To be fair to Elliott he has actually been better than Krul has over recent games! If Elliot can maintain this between now and the end of the season then we should be in a good situation goal keeper wise

DPP - There is optimism and there is stupidity. You are beginning to flirt...

Eliott deserves credit but lets not pretend he is great. I think we lack a top class keeper personally. Krul is good not great, I can't judge Darlow properly due to age and exposure, and Elliott is average to poor by PL standards. We could do with one but it is way down the priority list.

He has hardly played PL football yet has done as well as Krul has - please care to explain why he is not good enough?

Based on what I have seen he is below the standard required. In a purple patch but previously very error prone. Terrible on crosses, slow to get down and has let in some poor goals.Just an opinion. Its different to yours thats all.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is a long term solution but slating him after an outstanding performance akin to Jack Butlands last week and not putting a foot wrong when played this season is plain harsh!

Let's face it we don't have any choice until Jan anyway. If he keeps playing like he has today then I think we can say that he probably is good enough if he drops a few clangers then we throw Darlow in once he's fit and see if he's any better.

But what about Krul's clangers? He has had many over the last 12 months and no-one has considered dropping him! Like I said he has played well this season when call upon and an almightly blinder today - think he is allowed the odd clanger. What about Janmaat? Gini? Perez? They have all had games this season that haven't been great but no-one calls for them to be dropped!

Hence I always make sure he gets credit when its due. Talk of him maintaining his form to the end of the season seems as daft as slating after that performance. I just try to be balanced but keep a bit of realism about it. We are lacking in a lot of areas of the quality to hit top 10. Stoke are good example actually. They have superior players to us in many areas (I think we have better than them in others). They are a bit deeper than us and their average level is higher. I find them going from Begovic to Butland a bit annoying to be honest.

We are making progress in quality, its just going to take time as we have amassed a lot of ****e through lack of expenditure.

I don't think anyone is defending Krul to be honest mate. He has been very poor. Again I blame the board for that and Elliot not developing a bit more. Their lack of investment in our team has left us very vulnerable and them over worked, this has destroyed confidence.
