Well that result was no surprise, and Monk is totally impotent in changing the game and strategy, he's now on borrowed time, and don't let anyone deceive you with any thing else .....<ok>

Very worrying, very worrying. I just can't understand Monk's obsession with Gomis and that's just the bleedin' obvious, never mind the glaring imbalance in the side.

Norwich's first clean sheet of the season, they did enough, fair winners.

When ever Naughton moves forward with the ball it has to go back because there's nothing in front of him , I thought like you it was just Ayew , but Routledge drifted inside constantly

Last straw for me , 2 weeks till the next game , time for a new manager by Monday morning , preferably Rodgers .
Whoever it is he'll have a few weeks to mold something together.
Not a ****ing shot on ****ing goal , complacency has crept into the side Monk has put on the pitch for 8 games now and not a good outing in the bunch.
    Out !

I was on the phone to my mate when the teams news came up and and we were both horrified and mystified I knew then what the result was going to be and too be honest I thought Norwich would have won by more. Monk was a good player and captain for us but my club is more important to me than one man. I don't normally call for a manager's head but it is time for him to go now and not later so that a new manager has time to turn it around. If you think I am beginning to panic you're dead right.

The only and I mean only reason I can think of for Monk persisting with Gomis is that he thinks it'll shatter his confidence to be dropped. But Gomis is no kid and Monk's duty is to the club, not any one player.

Oh.... or Gomis has comprimising pictures of Monk... but who with? <laugh>

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. By Einstein's logic, Monk's insane. Get rid now.

I've endured Monks post game interviews up till this point , I refuse to watch another one of him delegating blame , hunting positives and generally blowing his own horn .
This loss has hurt me like no other .

I'm with you, Roof. It hurts for a number of reasons but two main ones. We were beaten by a poor side who kept their first clean sheet of the season and we didn't even get one shot on target. So embarrassing. We are better than this, surely.

Totally agree with the sentiments expressed by everyone.

Sacking Monk now though might still be called a knee jerk reaction and normally I'd agree... but as swans-m points out - repeating the exact same mistakes over and over, over far too many games, isn't unlucky or the team lacking confidence. It's tactics that are blatantly not working from a manager who either refuses to admit he's wrong or is just incompetent. I actually think Monk's reached the limit of his (current) ability.

I think he'll get another month or two before the board act in the best interests of the club. I seriously doubt Monk will turn it around by then, he's had long enough to at least try something different.

I disagree, Daimun. We'll be bottom three by then. Action has to be taken now.

Is it just me or is anyone else jealous of Southampton having ronald koeman and keep thinking that he's the one who got away.

Having just looked at Boundy's fixture list I think you could be right. We could be there or thereabouts certainly. I'm still not sure the board will act yet though. It's going to be an interesting November :emoticon-0107-sweat

One win in nine games! I don't think it is a knee reaction questioning Monk's ability. Changing one wide man for another wide man when so many of us can see we are lacking width. Taking Siggy off when Jonjo seemed to be having another up and down game Leaving Gomis on for the full match. All season Monk seems to leave players on who are doing badly and taking off players who are doing better.

Been out all afternoon at the Liberty watching the Ospreys beat a poor Zebre side comfortably - but with one eye on the Swans match.

As Kev Johns said when we went 0-1 down, "we won't come back from that" and not one of us disagreed ....... that for me sums up how far we have fallen, when no one has the confidence to say "don't be silly, we can still get something out of this...."

So that's 5 points from the last 8 PL matches it's bloody lucky that we played Aston Villa when we did.)

    1 win, 2 draws and 5 defeats........

5 points out of a possible 24 points.......

That is relegation form - period!

No wins at home in the PL since August .......

8 games is more than 20% of the season - so let's have no more bullshit about this being a "blip"

Bournemouth are up next - a must win match. Lose that and it's really looking like we are in free fall.

If we win, then Monk will be reprieved - but should that be the case?

Who the fek were that shower today ? reminded me of our worst league 3 team of old ! Monks losing the fans with his chances of trying different options while he had the time slipping fast ! How soon before he starts getting the boos and banners from the terraces/stands to force change before it really is to late ? Sad if it comes to that but hes brought it on himself continuing to long with a duff formula, surely there must be some heads down there that can see what a large portion of fans that pay to watch this crap are thinking but it doesnt seem to be getting through to his nut ffs !
