Story of his career if you believe what you read... Shame as I thought he'd been our best player.

I think that goal ruined Big Sam's gameplan. He should have switched it up when the ball hit the back of the net. Using Watmore's pace to get in behind won't work if they can just sit back and defend a lead...

I thought you were playing alright tbf. Total Big Sam performance. Don't know if he's got the nous to change things around when you go behind though. As you say, gameplan out the window.
I'm not saying "loose cannon". His career seems to be dogged by moments of stupidity, over-zealousness etc. Happened again today. Might be what has put off top clubs.

Great, another weekend where pretty much every result is the opposite of what we wanted.

M'vila was unlucky with the pen as I think he got the ball but it was so slight no ref could have seen it in real time. I think an extra inch on his stretch we'd be all talking about how good a tackle was. Think we should have had a pen to. I know the argument is ball to arm but his arms were so far up I've seen them given.

M'Vila is completely next level. We've no chance of signing him. Short should have put his hand in his pocket and made the investment instead trying to loan his way through every window. His off field temperament made the loan look the best option though. Hindsight eh.

Big Sam continuing with the Rodwell sub when we went behind completely baffled me. Poor, poor decision imo. AJ needs to up his work rate defensively or make way for Borini. Ola can't play CM, shell of a player at the moment. Defence played well going for we were ****e, why can't we strike a balance.

Southampton deserved the win in all.

I suppose. I'm finding that looking for the positives and trying to look on the bright side is getting really ****ing old. I won't go on about it, if you haven't got anything nice to say and all that.

If we had started the game with Borini and Watty up front first half say, and Defoe and Fletch comming on second period we might have fared better, the combinations up front today were not quite right. And we still have too many players starting who only turn up when they feel like it, I am sure BSA will sort them out.

Disagree. He hasn't been booked this season. In his entire career he's only had two sendings off and 26 yellows in 214 competitive first team games. The penalty was an inch stretch from being the tackle of the game. It happens. His on pitch temperament is excellent in my opinion.

This is kind of what I mean. He can seem totally in control, people wondering why a Man United type team aren't signing him etc, then a moment of madness.
As I've said, I'll apologise if wrong as I've only seen it on a ****ty stream but just looked a completely stupid tackle with no other outcome than penalty when I watched it. Cost you a point.

Think you've got him wrong personally fella. Off pitch on the other hand he's an absolute nightmare apparently. Nothing has happened yet with us. Yet.

Course of the season will tell. One thing is certain is that, ability-wise, h's up there with any holding midfielder in the league.

Bit worrying to hear boos at the end mind. You lads must have known what to expect from Allardyce?

The Rodwell sub baffled me. It was due to take place before the goal, after the goal he went ahead with it. For somebody who is supposed to be anal about everything I don't know why he didn't take a minute to assess how the dynamic of the game would change. Wasted sub imo.

This is what all of Allardyce's old team's fans will tell you though mate. At 1-0 down Allardyce will always think to himself "still in the game". He won't go after another goal, he'll try and make sure you don't concede again and just hope for a moment of brilliance up the other end. You'll see a lot more games like today, some you'll win, some lose, some will be 0-0. All will be drab.
