We just don't make enough quick one-touch passes. When you have an organised defence, you have to see your next pass before you even receive the ball. Instead, we just trap it, look up, look across, take a touch, then pass. Any momentum is lost. So many first-time through balls just being missed.
Should be leading, Mata had a good chance and Martial created his own. West Brom done nothing. Young is very confused. BFS been poor, take him off and stick Herrera on, leave Carrick as the DM and allow Herrera to get forward. Encourage late runs from him. Need an early goal to force West Brom out.
First 25 mins showed promise but it's slowly deteriorated into nothingness. The forwards have been non-existent in the box. Rooney should go off for Herrera but that won't happen so what's the point of talking about it. Having said that, only one team is actually interested in playing football today and that's United. Young has been 5hite on the right again but there's nothing we can do about that either as he's the only option. Maybe take him off and bring on Herrera and just go fck it and play 3 at the back!!
We're just too slow in spotting the passes. So many opportunities to cut open that defence being missed bcos we're over-thinking things.
OMG just spotted what our tactics are. Whip the ball into the box and look for the 2nd ball from their defenders. Genius
Can I just say, that goal. Very Whiteside-esque. Some of you who aren't "middle-aged" won't know too much about that
When LVG first started Lingard away in Europe I thought he would struggle. I'm pleased in the last couple of games he's made me eat my words
