1966 - My World Cup Final: Taffvalerowdy

Watched it on the olde black and white tv eating strawberries and ice cream.It was my mams birthday.

 

I don't know if can add to this excellent post. I, as Taff did, always played football in the local park after school (my wee village in Scotland). I remember watching on a trip to Kent to see my rellies firstly the Portugal v Nth Korea match (5-3) then I was in Cranbrook watching the semi and back to Sittingbourne and watched the final. I was 7 at the time and Geoff Hurst and Eusabio were my fav players lol

Surely you could tell from the intelligent, well reasoned & grown-up debates .....

 

Some may say experienced rather than old

I'd noticed a while back that the Swans forum was inhabited by a load of old farts and senior citizens

I even thought about starting a thread, something along the lines of "Old Codgers Corner" but then that describes the whole of this forum anyway! Maybe we should have a motto, something like "Black and white's good but real reminiscers do it in sepia"
