I wouldn't need to. I can just say I got it wrong. You can't, which makes it funnier that you try and claim I am Astro...
Only if it was a joke. I think one of your problems is that you are so humourless that you can't differentiate between banter and seriousness. Really there's no need to take yourself so seriously UIR. No one else does.
Thinking is certainly a step forward for you. Well done. When you get the hang of it let me know and I'll explain how football works
If UIR ever saw a live game it would be akin to a pent up adolescent popping his cherry. The world would suddenly all fall into place.
Anyway lads, as always, it's been a pleasure. Be back for the game. Don't expect a 9 niller though. Its WBA under Pulis.
As long as United keep winning, IMO the problem of the boring football can wait. The media pundits and some of our fans seem to take the victory and 3 points for granted and criticise the manager for not playing "attractive" football. After Moyes, what we need are wins. How it is done is of course up for debate but losing football is rarely attractive. We could have exciting attractive football for 89 minutes but if we end up at the end with 3-4, will it be of any good? As City the Chavs and RS have shown recently, a win is not to be sniffed at in the premiership. I am happy with the building of the team from the back. Solid defence first and then see whether we can score the winning goal. The days of "you score 3 we'll score 4" are over. LVG is not SAF and to expect him to play like him is just pie in the sky. In fact no other manager can either. I am surprised that the media and the pundits are still on about the style of football seeing what's happening to Jose (in the prem) and to Wenger (in the CL). The biggest mistake critics make is not comparing LVG with those current managers but with SAF.
Fergie didn't want to have to come from behind so often. This wasn't his game plan. He changed his entire set up in Europe to avoid losing away from home because it made the hone leg easier. A 1-0 win will give any manager less complaints than a 4-3 thriller. The fans might love the 4-3 game but the managers of both sides didn't. Keeping a clean sheet and behind hard to beat are the foundations of a great team. To take us from the shambles in the past few years to the best defence in the country is no mean feat. Look at Bayern, the basis for their success is the fact they are solid at the back. They are confident in the fact they are protected. We now need to bring our attack up to scratch with the likes of Bayern. I don't think van Gaal is daft. He will have reviewed PL seasons and seen that those sides that rely soley on an attack, rarely if ever win the title. They usually blow it, see Liverpool a few years ago or us in 2012. The best defence wins the PL
Aye, I would agree with that. The problem I have is that we don't keep winning. In the last five league matches we've won two, drawn two, lost one. Eight points from five matches isn't good enough imo - we should have beaten City given how limited and conservative they were in the derby, and should've made a better fist of creating chances against Palace. Dropped points like that, particularly against our rivals, will end up costing us a couple of places in the league. Ultimately if you aspire to win the title it's better to risk it for the extra two points than play it safe for the one, otherwise we'll just end up like Liverpool under Benitez.
We have to find a balance. Defence is key though, I've not checked but I wouldn't be surprised of almost every winner had the best defence, possibly more than the highest scorers have.
Not always it doesn't. Didn't work for Chelsea in 10/11 or 13/14, or for Benitez in any of Reina's magical golden glove seasons. Best attack wins the league, not the one which flat track bullies teams for fun but the one which can break down stubborn opponents and get the goal they need to win tight games. That's what will cost us the league, same as it did in 11/12 when we couldn't break down Blackburn or Wigan.
Suggest you check then. Last season Chelsea managed to win without the best attack, but the season before Chelsea had the best defence and came third, City won with the best attack. Before that City had the best defence and came second, we had the best attack and won. 2012 City won because of the best attack, 2011 our defence was worse that Chelsea and City's, 2010 our defence was better than Chelsea's. Five out of the last six seasons the best attack has won the league, but the best defence only won in two out of the last six.
