Lets not forget today lads and lasses. Poppy proudly on show and a silent prayer. I've just been in town and was shocked how many people arent wearing a poppy.
I hope that someone plays The Last Post before the minutes silence, it's always the ultimate moving experience for me.
I think those of us who are active on here are intelligent enough to understand the need for silence. It's the people who don't even know when the wars were that tend to clap. I had a conversation with a young lad at work this week who was amazed that over 600,000 people had died in WW2 as he thought. I tried to explain that it was over 60 million but he wouldn't believe me. Not his fault I reckon but we can't let things like this be forgotten.
I find it difficult not to fill up. Don't know why as I never lost anyone in conflict. Just feel proud I guess and appreciate the sacrifice of all who fell.
Gives me goosepimples every time. When i was a kid at Endike we had a lad who played the Cornet. Every Rememberance Day he used to play it out in the corridor and it used to echo around. Haunting. A memory I'll never forget.
I've never noticed any games where there's been applause instead of silence? Usually pretty well observed.
By the way the dating was going he's probably ****ed himself to death. The last bird was described as "very sporty". Lucky bastard.
Boro are a lively lot. I recall they took the Silver Cod in a pre season friendly in the Boothferry Park days. Headlines on Look North.
It's important to start tougher games well, often under Steve Bruce we are slow at the start. We need to show them we mean business right from kick off.
You can remember things without rituals and without Alam telling us about anything. Watching documentaries would actually tell you alot more, or reading a book. Now back to football.....
