After tomorrow - Which I can't wait to see him again! Simonsig for the World Hurdle - not good enough to challenge the like of Vautour , Don Cossack etc.. (Mainly due to his lay off ) and won't win the champion hurdle but the World Hurdle is right up his street!! Pace and stamina! But either way am so pleased hes back and let's hope he's just as good !!

I genuiely think Royal Boy can win that race. the race itself looks top notch. His last run was in the Tolworth where he outbattled Jossies Hill and we know what hes done since. Stamina looks up his street and its a case of who is match fit between himself and Simonsig.

It would only be fitting for HT to go out on a winner tomorrow.

I am going to stick my neck out and say SIMONSIG will bolt up tomorrow unlike Sprinter Sacre who had a massive problem! I Know they probably haven't told us everything but he has had some niggles that has kept him out! His confidence on a racecourse won't be shot like Sprinters he won lto in the arkle when arguably only 80%, he will be raring to go IMO and 13/8 is an absolute steal, he will win and Come on the for the race massively too!!

Predominance 4/1 Doncaster 1.50 only inexperience beat him the last day as he lost himself the race, bolted up on debut and looks a classy animal, should take care of these tomorrow and is a possible listed/group horse in the making. Acts on soft too so ground is no inconvenience and should relish the flat Doncaster straight.

With you on this one Stick ...... although I'm no great fan of HT, I'd like to see her final day a good one and she has some very decent rides tomorrow.

A Hayley treble? Four timer? You never know!

Our Kaempfer and Germany Calling double. 11/4 is a gift for OK, will be ridden differently and kept much closer to the pace.

Could be a good day for Charlie tomorrow with Kalane as well. Looks like a stiff ask for Drop out joe but wouldn't be surprised to see him go close.

Not sure if this has been discussed but ATRs £10,000 10 to follow for the jumps has launched and begins November 14th.

I'm happy to do a nice thread on it later/tomorrow with all the rules etc- have a look at it today and let me know thoughts!

Today we see the return of The Ould Lad who greatly impressed me last season when he won at Warwick and Leicester last season (both November), however it was his run at Cheltenham that really made me take notice. That day he ran from out of the handicap and was carrying extra weight too (Paddy Brennan put overweight as he could only do 10 stones) and he managed to run a very good second, and looked like a possible winner before not quite getting up the hill over the extended 3 miles and 2 furlongs. He was nicely ahead of the 3rd that day and went down as a horse to follow if he strengthened up.

Unfortunately the horse went backwards from that run, and failed to make the frame in his later starts, his jumping failing at times. As such, he starts this season off a mark of 125, a mark that he looks very well handicapped off given that run at Cheltenham.

Now, with another summer of strengthening, this seven year old should be in for his best season of his career, and having only had eleven career starts, he is open to plenty of improvement. Throw in the fact that he has been moved to a certain Paul Nicholls from Tom George and I think there are numerous reasons to be very optimistic today.

I think this horse could even turn into a 150 horse this season, and given that he is running off 125, I think he is a really good bet at 7/2. I have had a big bet on him today.

Another horse that went into my notebook on my visit to Chepstow was Our Kaempfer of the in-form Charlie Longsdon yard. He is back out again today at Aintree, in a race that looks sure to suit, given that he steps up in trip and has a select field of 6 others to beat. This is a Pertemps Qualifier so a few of these will be getting qualification runs in, and perhaps on return from their summer holidays they might not be fully fit (JP has two horses in) and his main rival probably should be Broxbourne of the Henderson yard.

Broxbourne was a high class handicapper on the flat for Mark Johnston and his best form was on good-soft ground or better. He then started hurdling with a mixed set of results, winning on debut before being disappointing in listed class. He went close off a mark of 127 in a handicap on his last start of last season at Cheltenham, and now reappears off a mark of 134. That might stop him from winning today, because on soft ground, he might not be as good as he was that day at Cheltenham.

The ground is also a bit of an unknown for Our Kaempfer, but he is a stoutly bred horse and I think he could well be even better on going that has give in it. He was given a smooth ride on return and was only asked to stay on for his place when the chance of victory had gone, it looked like a nice preparation for what he was being aimed at next.

He looks to have a soft ground action to me, and with race fitness on his side I think this is a brilliant opportunity for him to open his account for the season. I got on at 7/2 last night before the non runner.
