I bet he's quicker than Dawson and it isnt stopping him having an excellent season.

Maybe over a long distance but not in terms of turning and keeping up with a player. You rarely see someone breeze past Daws, happens to Maguire all the time. Well, until he wrestles them to the ground normally that is.

BBC match preview - Manager Aitor Karanka will again rest David Nugent (hamstring strain).

Daws has such a great sense of positioning that he rarely gets caught out! But I might have a few quid on Harry for 1st goal :emoticon-0148-yes:

Ye he usually fouls them. He's been caught out a few times.
Big H will be fine. I'm a bit worried about Adomah on Robbo.

Does he? Daws has committed 9 fouls in 1249 minutes of football this season. Maguire committed 21 in 1440 minutes for Wigan last season.

Anyone who's seen the highlights can see Maguire was fortunate not to give away a penalty at Brentford.

I've always thought Adomah looked a bit ****e, remember him supposedly being in fine form for Bristol when they came to the KC and he was terrible. Hopefully put in a similar performance tomorrow.

You cant compare the stats for a player in a relegated team with a top team. Its obvious Dawson is a better player but he's slow as ****. He reads the game really well to make up for it.

Bollocks, I've not seen much of him this season but I saw every minute he played for us last season and he never had a bad game. In fact he was absolutely ****ing brilliant against Arsenal in the cup and coped superbly with the likes of Alexis Sanchez. He played some minutes in the league around that time too and was safe as a nuclear bunker then anarl.

Your comments on him more accurately describe Alex Bruce, players breeze past him as if he isn't there, and he gives away stupid fouls in dangerous areas for free kicks and penalties, one which cost us an FA cup.

Never seen Maguire guilty of the stupid things Alex does.

He only played for us six times last season, most of them for the last five minutes, but he was absolutely dire at Lokeren away.

So you didn't go to West Brom or Brentford or Lokeren?

Came on late against West Brom, him (and tactics) cost us the game. Came on against Brentford, very fortunate not to give away a penalty, replays show it was pretty stonewall. He was ****e in Lokeren as well.

He only played 6 games for us last season, so that means he was dodgy in at least a third of them.

Maguire has made almost as many mistakes for us in 11/12 games as Bruce has in 80.

If it's true it's just the type of luck that you need on your way to winning a championship, because he does always seem to do well against us.

What I have seen of Maguire he will handle the game OK, he played OK against Brentford. Davies and Bruce at the moment would be a better option, but I am sure he will do OK.

You've just made that up he wasn't at all ****e in Lokeren. Midfield and forwards yes, even Figueroa but Rosey, McShane and Maguire were solid and other than McGregor passing straight to their striker, Lokeren didn't have the slightest whiff at our goal, the defence kept them completely locked out.

He looked clumsy and slow, hence why he was shipped out. I remember distinctly coming away from that game and thinking we'd spunked £2.5 mil on him when we had plenty of cover at the back.

I'm not saying he's no good, I'm saying we're weaker with him in the team.

I assume as you ignored the other two points you agree he was at fault at West Brom and Brentford.

I think Curtis is back training so will be back after the international break, this is Harry's big chance to lay down a marker to be kept in the team and not dropped back to the bench, I for one think he will take this chance....

Against the foxes right at the start of the game he managed to keep up with their winger (carnt remember the lads name) and stop him getting round him, great tackle, if he hadnt the lad would of been in on goal.

I'm not saying he's never caught up with anyone, I'm saying his turn of pace is terrible.

I'm not suggesting he's rubbish, he'll probably benefit from a run of games (if he gets one), but he was definitely terrible at Lokeren.

You learn how to cut down the distance by coming across, it's your full backs that have to help out and not leave you exposed.
