When we famously beat Man Utd at Old Trafford in the Cup there was a bigger crowd at Blackburn for the next round. Things have changed since then. I have posted this before, but only 13 clubs have ever averaged over 40,000 in England. I got 10 of them, got 2 by a process of elimination but had to really dig around for the other one. Of those clubs some only achieved that figure once and some only a couple of times. Some you might think did in fact didn't.
There are a lot of reasons why attendances have fallen. I'm saying that with sensible pricing you can increase attendances dramatically. Derby do something but I'm not saying we should blindly follow their lead. http://www.wearederby.com/ticket-office/demand-based-ticketing/
I agree that a lot has changed. I'm simply saying that if we reduce prices we will get bigger attendances.
I was counting the eyes and dividing by two. Then I got to George Slater who was starting a Waggy,Waggy, Waggy chant and it threw me out.
He passed away earlier this year. He started going to FC in the 1970s and denied ever going to City when Gary came across him a few years back. I wonder if he had the Hull City tattooed across his fingers removed?
That's sad to hear. I was in my teens or early 20s when I knew him and he seemed to be in his 40s but you can never tell when you are young. So at least he most likely had a good innings. Pity a lot of it was spent supporting Hull FC. I suppose he only needed to change the tattoo on the fingers of one hand.
