We've had a chance to bury Rangers (old, new, sevco etc - any form of them whatever way you look at it) forever and make them totally irrelevant. The Celtic team have went backwards and the current Rangers team look OK with a lot of progress since McCoist. We're going to end up meeting them in terms of quality. If Rangers aren't the basket case we think or if they get their **** together, we'll have them as challengers. **** sake... wasted 4 years!
It could be argued that spending on big players with big salaries with no guarantee of CL success could leave us hamstrung and in the position Strachan was left in after O'Neil left We can always go back to spending big money and going into great debt, we have that facility, but right now we do not have to, we have a few years of domestic superiority until Aberdeen catch up. Hopefully by then we will have become a self sufficient football club Well I can dream... Sevco are a decent CHAMPIONSHIP team who under the Warbmeister still got horsed by StJ and look like heading the same way Rangers did They're nothing
One, Celtic need Rangers in the SPFL. The rivalry and the money generated make this obvious to all but the most bitter of taigs and huns. Two, we're playing teams in Europe with similar and, in many cases, smaller budgets than ourselves, and we're getting gubbed. That's down to Deila. Three, get Deila to ****.
I'm not talking spending big bucks ... just replacing the talent being punted with similar if possible. We sold Van Dyke and lost Denayer. We replaced with Boyata. Then Blackett. Then we spent £5m on a defender at the wrong time. We needed a striker ...so we bought Ciftci, who was banned for 7 games and proceeded to play him in Europe when he was no where near fit enough. He had Scepovic but he never got a chance. In terms of decision making, I can't see he is strong at making decisions. His substitutions can be bizarre at times. He's blinkered about Joe Hansen. Gordon's been out of form all season. Why not give Bailly a chance? He let Henderson and Fisher go out on loan - two of our hottest prospects Especially when you consider Brown's not been 100% fit and Lustig has glass legs. He signed Carlton Cole when he plays 1 up front.
**** sake, I forgot about Carlton Cole His signing kinda goes against the grain of "we only sign young players and develop them" mantra that Ronny's been spouting for the past two seasons.
I think the spending issue is above Ronny's pay grade We probably have a Liverpool like transfer committee that Ronny is happy to work under Every other criticism I can't argue against but they are common criticisms shared with Celtic managers of the past... Maybe not all in the one go though
Good grief, Mindy. You really are a spastic of massive proportion. Give Delia 5 years and see where you're at? The Celtic Academy is highly thought of but you need more than 1 guy every few years becoming a decent player. I went to a Coaching seminar with Willie McNab (Celtic Academy head) and he spoke highly of Delia with regards to diet and preparation and pretty much bad mouthed Lennon. McNab also said the best player he'd worked with at youth level was Tony Watt and look where he's at. Celtic will continue to get their arse handed to them in the Jug until someone gives them a decent run in the league because if nobody pushes them, then how can they expect to beat a team who are being pushed every week. Short-termism has ruined Scottish football, small leagues, dwindling crowds and booting Rangers out the league has all but compounded Scottish football's ills whose co-efficient is falling faster than any other country in Europe bar Lithuania. The only thing that can save Scottish Football is its most successful team, the Blue Tsunami is coming and it's going to bring with it a renewed zest that can only reinvigorate the game. Going forward, 16 team top league, play each other twice and a January break.
So we should have just let The Rangers straight into the SPFL and damned the consequences? When will you get it into your heads that there was no other option but to make The Rangers start in the bottom tier, otherwise it was a cheats charter, every club/company in the land could pile on the debt and shed it by starting again and pretending it was the same club/company. It wasn't just Celtic fans who thought this way, it was everyone in Scottish Football.
Even after all this time the daft huns still think they haven't done anything wrong They were lucky to even get into the 3rd division. It's just as well for them that the SFA, who they claim to hate so much for being anti-Rangers, bent their own rules to help them or they would have been playing in the local leagues (and probably struggling to get promoted under Fat Sally).
Reactionary nonsense from fans, haters and the likes. Truth is that such was the outpouring of hate against Rangers that most of us were willing to start at the bottom again but it doesn't detract from the fact that booting Rangers out the league cost Scottish football dearly, both monetary and as a competition. Again though, Rangers fans who have done absolutely nothing wrong in this whole saga are the ones who get punished. Finally, as pointed out to you many times before, The Rangers have always been called the Rangers, the original Company was called The Rangers Football Club so your hilarious "The Rangers" joke that you've been making for 3 years is bit of a farce, just like FACE! Enjoy your weekend toots. xx
SDM did wrong, Whyte, Green et al. The Club is the fans, the fans didn't do anything wrong apart from support their team. Bye x
Fans get punished all the time. My team got horsed last night by Molde, should I argue the result should be overturned because I bear no responsibility for the faults of the players and club?
Rangers were a cancer that needed cut out of Scottish football. Your club was poisoning the game. Yes, it may have led to short-term pain but if the long-term effect means a healthy football climate with a Rangers team that isn't run by spivs then it was worth it. Sadly, it looks like Rangers are no better than they were five or 10 years ago so getting back to the SPFL will lead to little improvement of Scottish fitba.
You slag off a five year growth programme then slag off short termism Keep beating that keyboard with you face
How can a skint Sevco who can't compete with StJ Hearts and Motherwell bring a better challenge than Aberdeen?
There's an article on Bbc football by Tom English that sums it up . It's spot on ... Ronnies a dud. He said he didn't review the previous defeat by molde We then go and play just as bad !
