Aka Blue Labour. Hate to think what he would have been like without Brown reeling him back in. Btw, Brown was my old politics lecturer. He's probably the cleverest bloke I've ever met. And probably the unluckiest Prime Minister ever. If you go back & have a dispassionate look at the series of crises that erupted during his tenure, you'll have a re-think about him if you didn't think he was up to the job.
Sadly Brown had no charisma as far as those he needed to convince were concerned. He was unfairly maligned for his speech pattern and his mannerisms. Unfortunately politics these days is more about how you look and sound than what you do.
