Here's me talking Saints on radio in Sunderland with ex-Sunderland player Michael Proctor and his co-hosts Gareth and Stephen. Talking about the summer business, the importance of Koeman, the season so far and previewing this weekend's game. And, they eventually got me off the fence for a score prediction. Starts at 16:36 - http://www.sun-fm.com/of-into-the-light-with-michael-proctor-.php
Typical Saints fan. We may think 10-0 (which incidently I don't), but we are far too polite to say so and we prefer to cover our backs in case Saints do a number on us. Truthfully, we all think we will win....which makes us nervous.
Fear of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Otherwise called Saintilitis, can be highly contagious but known to be psychological in its origin. Many thousands of cases have been reported over many years, although no reliable research has been published into the disorder. Anecdotally pre-match consumption of between 4 and 10 units of alcohol tends to lessen the 'flight and fright' symptoms that can at times lead to quite acute episodes of post match depression if the element of self fulfilling prophecy becomes real. At this point is worth reflecting that the most acute symptoms tend to wear off without continuous further medication. On sober reflection I am hopeful of a positive result this Saturday.....
Whilst it might be wishful thinking hopefully the sales of After 8 Dinner Mint's plummet in Sunderland yet again
Pelle divides opinion??? Can't name a 'best' referee??? Going to watch Dover, not Saints???? It's a good read, but they should have spoken to someone old enough to remember Le Tiss playing. Perhaps they'll try that lad Conor Armstrong next time instead
Tbf to Connor, there are quite a few Saints fans on forums (if interviewed) who'd lead people to think that our team is full of morons who never try. Connor is nicely balanced...hiding his rabid Saints fan behind a calm mask.
This fella seems a bit aggrav8ed. Must be something he 8. Anyway, I don't mean to exagger8 but I think we can win 9-0 on Saturday. Just depends on whether our players are motiv8ed. They should be, after all we're in the top 8 now.
They are very twitchy about weather up there. Spent a lovely few days in Newcastle, nice weather. But if my hostess mentioned how everyone thinks they have bad weather all the time, she mentioned it six times. Bit of a chip about it. Weird really...because you have no control over local weather. We know the South is sunnier, but we don't claim responsibility for it.
Just like living in Newport All delivery vans come off the car ferry at Fishbourne/East Cowes, then turn left. Anything coming from the mainland, including engineers etc, reach Newport just after I've made a blistering complaint to their head office.
http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/959580/Preview/ Preview with stats of this game. Suggesting a 3-0 Saints win...I'd take that.
When I was a manager for Royal Mail, I was forever getting complaints from people saying "the postman's just gone past the end of my street and now I won't see him for 2 hours". I told all the customers the same thing, that he had to start and finish somewhere. One lady with a cut glass accent said "but my dear, one is never last"!
