The kid for me looks a good player under the right guidance. He seems to be surplus to requirements at Spurs and I think he would fit in nicely as a RW in our team. I know Sissy is playing there but I still do not think this is his best position.

Would you take him, he might be available at a knock down price of say £8-£10 million!

He's not as good as people think but certainly good enough for us

I just think that he has a bit of flair and excitement. He is a very direct player and can cross a ball and strike it too!

Wouldn't have him if £8-£10 million is the value. Seems as if he's a bit of a problem child at the moment.

    I agree

I think we need to look at red cards, dissallowed goals and wrongly ruled off side stats for all players first and foremost.

He certainly would have been a better signing in the summer than Thauvin, although not as good Andre Ayew.

For me he is worse than Routlege and Nathan Dyer!

I said in the Summer we should have gone for him ahead of Sissoko; we'd have made profit on that deal, and Moussa would have walked to London. Whilst Sissoko has been more impressive, he's still sketchy and I'd still take this deal, plus we'd STILL make a profit!!

Ideal world, we go back in time, shove Thauvin up Carr's hairy @rse and buy Townsend for £5m less, then add another defender with the change. We'd be 3rd right now.

Ayew mate, not Townsend. It's not Carr, it's Ashley's strategy of penny pinching and trying to turn a buck on every signing which makes us settle for second best and sign players who are not good enough, or at best a gamble.

I would rather have Sissoko than Townsend. He has a lot of off days but when he's up for it he can lift the whole team. Townsend is a greedy, one-trick pony, who's passing lets him down badly.

I think Townsend is decent but I'm not sure he suits us. He tends to play right and cut in a lot. He has a rasping shot and would suit teams who play narrow. In some ways that is us with the emphasis being on full backs providing width. However we seem more suited to less wing type players in our diamond - i.e. Gini and Sissoko types. If we then go for wide types, I'd rather have a right footed player with Aarons (if ever fit) left.

I think Townsend is decent but not particularly sure how you get the best from him.

Ego and attitude exceed his abilities, on the way out because of this, one of those players who thinks in terms of what can the team do for me rather than what can I do for the team.
