He seems to get little game time these days and when he does come on (like yesterday) he seems to be two yards behind the pace of the game.
Add to that, his injuries and surely his future needs to be called into question?

His only future at the club is as a supporting striker. He is not a midfielder and is slower than Ameobi was! But to me he is an expensive4th choice striker!

It's a shame. I would like to see him at his best. Definite ability. If 'fit' he would probably be better off in a European league where the pace is a bit slower.

With his injury record and in his current form I suspect he would be hard to shift on for a decent price.

Needs a run of games at 21 level to get match fit and then see. Pointless discussion if he can only last a game or two. You won't shift him and he will be no use.

SDJ is a marvellous footballer and at the moment should really be playing instead of Perez, as the deep lying forward, except of course Perez is far more progressed than we thought he would be and SDJ is made of balsa wood.

The problem we have as fans is we're so un-used to the idea of a "squad" that we write off players who can contribute from the bench or in the event of injury. I think in this day and age every aspiring club needs two decent-enough players per position, with the top echelon having essentially two first XI's and a handful of third choice talent. We run such a threadbare squad that we never quite get there. We're closer, finally, than we've been but a lot of question marks still over some of the 2nd choice.

    Krul/Elliot, Janmatt/Mbabu, Mbemba/Lascelles, Colo/Saylor, Dummett/Haidara, Sissoko/Thauvin, Tiote/Anita, Colback/also Anita, Wijnaldum/Aarons, Perez/SDJ, Mitrovic/Cisse.

It's not that bad, really, now we have a formation that makes some sense and something approaching an identity. The difficulty we have is we're so weak at CB, LB and we're pushing things at CM as well. If we had just brought in another CB, a quality LB and replaced Cisse we'd be looking up with confidence.

Not really. I just don't think he's going to cut it in this league. Certainly not when he's injured most of the time. Saying that, who would buy him and match his wages? No one probably, so he most likely does have a future a NUFC - in the reserves.

I agree, in the right league he might be class. But he does seem a yard slow and also might not be suited to the pace of the premiership game!

We haven't seen him match fit yet. At this rate we might never see him match fit.

However, if he can stay injury free for a while and get up to pace then I think he could definitely have a part to play. Big if though!
