Might sound presumptious, but I don't think we need to spend any money in January at all. I'd be quite happy not to sign anybody unless we pick up any bad injuries between now and Christmas. There'll still be some flid who wants more strikers ("I just think we need one more striker"), but then it wouldn't be a Hull City transfer window if there wasn't. If we aren't placing faith in Townsend, maybe we could loan in a LB as back up, just in case something happens to Robbo as Clucas and Moses aren't really comfortable. Who do we sacrifice from the bench to accomodate Diomande, Snodgrass and Davies? Gonna be tight for places.
As Lambo says we've brought in some quality, I'd be highly surprised if we don't see a clutch of players making the grade, Bruce permitting.
Tymon is training with the first team so they obviously see him as a decent prospect. Clark is well documented on here and the fact he can play both midfield and in a back four will appeal to Bruce. The issue is that our squad is pretty big at the moment, so even if we have a decent FA Cup run, we can still rotate and have fringe first team players instead of youth in there (unless we play a really low down team). We're looking quite likely to get promoted again which will hamper their chances further. So either they'll have to be pretty talented footballers or they'll have to go on loan somewhere and really, really excel to have any shot of making the first team. Luer hasn't done his chances any harm, but the likes of CJM, Dixon and Townsend really haven't done themselves any favours (shame because CJM looked really good in pre season, he strikes me as the kind of player that will leave us and do well elsewhere, a bit like Karim Rossi has) and I expect all will be gone come the end of the season.
Has ter Horst been alright this season, he started really well but not heard much from him. Interestingly, was talking to the Ferriby first team coach and he mentioned that Ferriby went in for Margetts but he got injured just as they were about to sign him (on a pre contract) and they opted against it. Apparently Pennock and Heath don't get along, as Pennock thinks Ferriby aren't a good enough level for our youth to play at. Bit harsh.
