All football clubs have idiots who call themselves supporters but their actions are of detmiment to the club and therefore they are the complete opposite of a supporter. It's a shame that they feel the need to abuse someone like this, I was annoyed with his actions and would have liked the opportunity to dish out a few choice words myself at the time, they would not have alluded to race or abuse of his family.

More should be done to stop racial abuse online but I imagine it's difficult to deal with.

Does this mean I get to forever brand your club as a racist institution now? No?

Racism is still rife unfortunately, makes for uncomfortable reading doesn't it (whichever club they pertain to support). Nothing for us to feel ashamed about as supporters of Liverpool, these knobs don't represent my views anymore than anyone else's on this board.......ashamed to be a human on the other hand <ok>

    I feel ya.
My clubs had it worse than most in this respect the last few years.
Its frustrating as hell, I know. Because these idiots don't represent the view of the club and its fans.

How ANY Liverpool fan could be racist, when you have such legends as John Barnes et all.
Same with us. Some of those racist ****ing knobs from the train were probably cheering their guts out when Drogba grabbed the equaliser in Munich in 2012, then scored the winning penalty.
    ****ing hypocrites.

I know mate, seen it all before. I'm old enough to remember Barnes getting abuse chanted at him by his own fans when playing for England....I'm old enough to remember hearing that **** at pretty much every ground I travelled to and as much as I loved the atmosphere in those days I hated the fact that the game was literally handed to these thugs on a plate.

It used to be the anonymity of the "big crowd" they thrived on, that seems to have been replaced by the (perceived) anonymity of social media. Sad but certainly not representative of our clubs or even our cities.

Well times are changing for sure.
I remember back in the late 90's/early 00's you could say and do pretty much anything you wanted on the internet, unfortunately some people saw that as free license to terrorise, bully and be assholes, and now, rightfully so, the authorities have had to start doing something about it.

While I understand the sentiment @donga kloppo this is not a football tribal issue.

I certainly don't feel ashamed, racists are racists are racists. Football is just one of many outlets for their skewed disposition, no doubt they spread it elsewhere too. It's quite possible some fans from almost all the clubs have EDL membership :D

Question: When is the media and government going to accept that they are creating more racists? Not with overt racism, just the kind of thinking that produces bigotry and racism. The Daily Mail is but one example, racial profiling is another.

While I agree that these racist idiots don't speak on my behalf, I do still feel ashamed simply because they wear the same club colours as me. They are about as far removed from my opinion as they could possibly be and while there's no guilt by association, I still feel the shame because they are doing it as 'fans' of my club and not just as private individuals.

I feel a similar shame if any crimes committed are done by people from my city. They are portraying an image that many will link to everyone from the city whether we like it or not. You can stretch that premise as far as you like - Northeners, Brits on holiday, etc.etc. We're not all the same but idiots like the ones in the OP run the risk of tainting every member of the group they belong to. As already mentioned it's time something was done about online abuse starting with ip tracing - name and shame.

When they're abusing a player because of what he supposedly did to their club, then it is a football issue, as their abuse was driven by their club allegiance.

Yes, in the wider context it's a society issue, but I'd be ashamed to have my club associated with morons like this.

Social media gives them a platform and they should be tracked down and prosecuted.

    So did foot and mouth!
My original post was a joke obviously.
These half a dozen tards speak to the quality of the average Liverpool fan as much as those half a dozen cocks on the train in Paris speak to the quality of the average Chelsea fan.
This won't be the last time a select few tarnish the name of a whole set of supporters.
I was ashamed of the morons in Paris, so I agree with JB. It makes me sigh in frustration when people do **** like this.

Of course its a football tribal issue.
These days the second a black man pulls on a Liverpool jersey he is exempt from abuse, as soon as he leaves all bets are off.
    Same with every other club.
The same idiots kicking the black guy off the train, as I said before, had no problem cheering on Drogba when he scored in the CL final, and probably owned jerseys with his name on the back. Its ****ing ******ed.

  18. All clubs have their morons. Some more than others. Some clubs have a bigger following so therefore more morons too but in terms of ratios/percentages, there are actually fewer. Whatever and whoever, they are all still morons!
