Who would go for Chezzy back if we were to be promoted back to the Premier League Certainly think Chezzy would come back and doubt very much we would have to pay 8 million to get him back. If not what players would you go for?.
You're all being a bit premature. Either go to doctors or better still pretend you're shagging Deidre Barlow and you'll last all night
No. At this moment our defence has been brilliant. If it remained that way, I'd like to see us go with it in the Prem, with maybe an addition as backup. Dawson and Davies, when on form, are brilliant. We've seen that both can do it in the Prem as well. In reality, we don't need Chester as it stands. And if we did bring him in, I don't think he'd come here to be backup.
It's a little early to be discussing who we'd want in the Premier League, there's a long way to go yet. Though I'd take Chester or Brady back, whatever league we were in.
We do need quality if we do get back up, Dawson's not getting any younger & he's our Wayne Brown this season, although he's been in the PL for a long time, there is a possibility that he won't be able to handle it. Chester would probably come back if he was offered, but sometimes you should never go back from either side. I would like to think Maguire would step up to replace Dawson or Davies if anything happened to them. Also I'm sure there would be alternative players available. Maybe Chester wouldn't be available anyway or maybe wouldn't want to come back.
I think there's 'never go back' when it's someone like Campbell and it's been 8 years, and then there's Chester who's essentially on loan this season.
Thats why I put "if" Lamby Just intrigued wether people would have him back. likewise I would welcome Brady back too. Good choice mate
Windass came back, Skipper, Edwards & Whitehurst also. So it's not always a bad thing. Can't think of any more, but sometimes they don't want to come back & would we need him, would WBA let him go, it's still early in his time there, he still has plenty of chance to take the PL by storm whilst at WBA!
For fear of being laughed out again for mentioning age, Dawson is getting on a bit and who knows whether he'll be up to the PL next season. Chester is on the rise and is a known quantity at the club alongside Davies.
And rightly so... Dawson would be 32 if we were in the Prem next season. That's perfectly fine for a defender, he's still in his prime years.
If he's still in his prime he wouldn't have moved from Spurs to us, he'd either still be there or be at a Swansea/Stoke/Southampton. And someone would have come in for him in the off-season. But meh, not worth going into again.
I never said he was in his prime, I said prime YEARS. You're acting as if he'll be 37 or something by next season.
WTF is the difference between 'in his prime' and 'prime years'? No I'm acting as if he's now at an age where he can't be counted on to replicate the same form next year, he's a year on year prospect. He may well still be brilliant next season, and he may well have a bunch of hamstring injuries and barely make an appearance - as was the concern before he even signed for us. Relying on just having him and Davies and 'a back up' would be foolish if by that you're suggesting we not bother with Chester if he were available.
Prime years are a period of time where a player can be considered to be at his peak, but prime is him actually being there. It's hard to explain, but there is a difference. I'm not just relying on him and Davies and a 'backup', because firstly we have players who are young and could replicate what Chezzy has done if given time, like Maguire. Secondly, I don't think Chezzy will come back. Thirdly, if we were to get him back, we would likely have to pay back the amount we sold him for, which I can guarantee can be spent on someone not only cheaper, but with better ability. Why is everyone acting as if Chezzy will be available and will jump straight back to us IF we go up?
Probably hard to explain because you're talking out of your ass. If you're in your prime years you're at your prime. What nonsense. Ok. If you'd just said that paragraph to begin with that would have saved you the embarrassment of trying to differentiate prime years from prime.
One's theoretical and one's factual. If a player is good on paper, does that mean he's definitely 100% good on the pitch? It's arse, by the way.
