I must agree about the back problems...the more I exercise the less ache I get! It is funny how jobs multiply once you've given up work though!

Colin Welland the talented writer and actor has died. He had found fame when he played PC David Graham in TV police serial Z Cars. Good viewing for a Saturday evening back in the 1960's.
No I am not sure that is was a Saturday now you mention it. Think it came back as a twice weekly show at one point, but not too sure of that either.

George Dixon was named after my school which was in turn named after a Birmingham 19th century philanthropist of the same name. I think either the writer or the producer of the series must have been an old boy of the school/
There was Dixon of Dock Green and Z cars..... great programmes... Colin Welland was a great actor and writer. Happy here this morning .. .at the 4.00 watershed yesterday when the internet went mad got both Villa and Man Utd tickets ( i tried on phone first but when an automated voice told me i was 19th in the UK... managed to do it online)
