Today we had the 155th running of the 6 million dollar Melbourne Cup. Here in Victoria we have a Public Holiday (yes, for a bloody horse race) for the "Race That Stops a Nation" and which draws the best 2 milers in the world. Japan were favourites to take out the race with the short priced Fame Game but we were in for a shock this year when all the fancied runners failed to fire and 70-1 outsider Prince of Penzance from New Zealand and ridden by Michelle Payne becoming the first Female Jockey to win the cup. Franki Dettori was a little unlucky but was fined 20,000 dollars for interference in the race on Max Dynamite. Watch the race in full - Michelle is wearing the Green and White Colours and her horse is wearing blinkers - and watch the incredible ride from this brilliant Jockey. The strapper, who you will see at the end of the race leading the horse in has Downs Syndrome and is Michelle's brother. A wonderful fairy-tale fulfilled:
Got my missus to stick 5 dollars on what I told her was a sure thing of a winner. It finished last. For some reason the bookie paid of 6 dollars. Must have been a promotion or something. Betting guru me.

The missus doesn't mind my instagram. Doesn't realise I use it mainly to follow bikini models. Doesn't know I'm on Snapchat. Nor will she.
She will when she's lying next to you in bed and you're flicking through snaps of sluts. Or when Comm tells her at your wedding I'm scared of it mate, I'd go on for a butchers at some crumpet and end up sending everybody I know a picture of myself in the bath by accident.
There are far too many celebrities to mention who attend the Melbourne Cup each but here is the wife of Tennis Champion Lleyton Hewitt and Mother of their three children, Bec Hewitt. She was a popular 'soapie' star prior to marrying Lleyton. please log in to view this image I put the original post on here but put the wrong video on. What I was posting was the remarkable story of Michelle Payne who was the youngest of 10 children, had an enormous struggle to be accepted as a jockey (being a woman) but managed to make a living out of it. She was almost killed in a car accident some time ago but made a remarkable recovery to return to racing (the whole family worked in the racing industry) which culminated in the winning of the Melbourne Cup. It would have been ironic and terrible if she had died as her Mother died in a car crash when she was barely 6 months old. She has a small farm which she runs with her brother Sammy who has Downs Syndrome and the money she won as the winning jockey plus endorsements that are coming her way plus there is talk of a film will have earned her over half a million dollars. I hope you will watch the race again, she came from the inside barrier and follow her through the field as she rode her mount to absolute perfection. If you go on YouTube you will find some excellent videos telling the story of this remarkable young lady and I encourage you all to do so. Don't you just love fairy tales that come true! P.S. Sammy had a 10 dollar each way bet on his sister who brought the winner in at the astounding odds of 100-1.
