Just watched Beasts Of No Nation on Netflix (thanks for the recommendation Beef).

My god, dark and viscious but very, very good. An important film that one.

I feel very bleak now though!

Haha, that's just what I need!

I recommended a book called A Long Way Gone by Ismael Beah to Beefy as he'd been talking about this film. Both very similar. Just really, really, really puts a lot in perspective.

Bought Michael Connolly's new one today so "The girl with.." and "Fine Day" will both have to wait.

    Yes that's what I meant!

In reality, I may still go with "girl with" as I am sure the wife will grab Connolly first.

    Sorry ... THe Crossing.

Why Connolly? He is my favourite fiction crime writer and a large chunk of his books are about the same detective, Harry Bosch. If you decide to read them and are anal like me, start with the first... Black Echo.

Never read any, but I loved the Amazon series Bosch. I'll put them on my list. By the way, I'm reading "Us" at the moment and I'm loving it.

I watched all the Bosch series and it is one of the few occasions where the producers/casting team got their job spot on. Boy they nailed the right actors for the roles.

    You'll love the books.

Yes, you and LTL recommended it. You would think with my background I'd identify with Douglas but I think I've got more in common with Connie!
