I understand the council are currently removing the setts and the old railway lines from the road outside The Green Bricks.

They'd been covered in tarmac which had broken up and exposed the sets and it was planned for them to be restored as part of the Humber Street redevelopment. I believe they're putting in some sort of new blocks, but it seems a shame they're removing the old railway lines...

John Atkinson Grimshaw's painting, but the lines don't show. I do remember when the shunters used to move trucks up and down to and from the fruit sheds.

The green bricks are still there and look like your photo, the photo I posted is of the other side.

Are you sure OLM ? Just googled and street scene for May 2015 seems to show lighter green timber planking below the windows and there is one panel of green bricks left between 2 end doors on Blanket row?

As far as I'm aware, it still looks just like the picture above, there was only ever green bricks on the original pub building at the opposite end to the Blanket Row end...

I think it used to be Princes Dock Tavern? But it certainly was ONLY the green-bricked premises; the other (planked) bit was added to it in the 90s (I think?)

It opened at the New Dock Tavern, then changed it's name to Princes Dock Tavern in 1839, no idea when it became Green Bricks, but as you say, the planked bit was a fairly recent addition.

Some good news from the Council, the setts and railway lines are all being reinstalled.

They're being removed to put in modern drainage etc, but once done, they'll be restored to their former glory. <ok>

Some pubs have strange names. I often wonder how they come by them. "Green Bricks"? ****ed if I know.
