Dai - Whilst fans can be "fickle" in respect of how they view a player, they are consistent in their loyalty towards the Club. No different really from how most players are - the Club is just an employer, and if a "more attractive" prospective employer comes along ......
Gomis would fit in better with a club that plays his type of football. he would thrive, We could do with a quality trundle type of player that can do everything from long shots to dribbling past defenders and taking defenders away so that someone else can score. Trundles skill is hard to come by these days as a lot of strikers are specialists in one way of playing. now wallcott of Arsenal is a mobile player who has all the attributes in today's game but he has a big problem...he is prone to injury...
So would Bony fit in better with a club that plays his type of football..... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-city-boss-manuel-pellegrini-6746886
Anyone find it odd that Bony didin't take either penalty, especially the second. He may not last too long at Man City, especially with Aguerro fit, but I can't see him wanting to move (back) to a "smaller" club now. He was fabulous for us but I always got the impression we were just a stepping stone to the big time and he definitely has the ambition/ego to sit on the bench at a "bigger" club rather than take a "step down/backwards" and actually play every week. The only caveat I would add though is that the smaller clubs will have greater spending power soon, so a so called "step down" would at least pay better.
So why the **** then did GM sign him, I thought he said he only brought players here who fitted the way we play. Now either GM has made a massive mistake or Gomis is just ****e.
This is what everyone was saying a few short weeks ago... Just a sample... Keep on like this and he'll be a superior player to Bony. He's already impressed me with his work rate around the pitch. Offers far more defensive protection imo. Our leader Valley... Vastly improved and he links well with Ayew. £150 million for the pair. (Clubs do get desperate two days before the transfer window closes PGF White After today there's more of a chance of the queen getting her nipples pierced than there is of Gomis going Stumpy The only thing with Gomis is his age, shame he isn't 26. Also I think the system we play suits Gomis now, the problem when he first came to us is that the team was set up for bony. Eder will have the same problem although he's more similar to gomis than Gomis was to bony Swan and only You have to Laugh how you can go from Zero to Hero and back to Zero in a few short weeks...
You've been around long enough to know that players need to maintain form to retain support from the fans. It's unrealistic and undeserved for to fans to continue singing a player's praises when he's been playing badly. Are you suggesting we should all be saying what a great player he is? Come on. After a slow start Bony maintained his consistency by and large. Gomis hasn't. Blips are acceptable, but this is beyond that. A spell on the bench is warranted and may do him some good. Eder deserves a chance at least.
Dai, in "Tough times ahead" Phil said "Bit of a blip I would say, we always seem to have these bloody awful dips in performance, not even Montero was playing well, but don't get me started on Taylor......." To which you answered "or gomis,"
We have only played 10 games how can you judge a player that everyone was raving about not long ago and all of a sudden he is crap.....OMG fickle or what....
He needs a rest just like a few other players to recharge their batteries......You cant play continuous without a break as you will make mistakes......
Can I say mate I have never raved over him and always thought he was a poor signing, however he was starting to slowly change my mind. But, he has fallen back to below where he was when he was at his worst last season. I for one would shift him on as soon as we can, there has to be better out there for us.
i believe he will move on myself but we would be losing a good player......Im of a mind that i don't care who moves on as that's the nature of football. The grass is not always greener but it's their life and career and its just a job of work that is well paid.......players come and players go and that's ok by me....
But he's coming across as an Adebayor Dai. Puts himself in he shop window just before a transfer window and is then **** as soon as it closes. I'm expecting huge improvements from him just as the January windows open.
The only way Gomis will go to the Red Devils in Manchester, is for a sight seeing tour of Old Trafford the way his focus is these days
