DM's do get yellow cards and commit fouls.

Lucas commits more fouls than most, and most them aren't even tactical ones. It's because he's either in the wrong position, fails to react quick enough or simply isn't up to it physically.

We were blessed with the likes of Didi and mascherano is nowhere near their level.

  5. I love Lucas, he should be one of the first names on the team sheet (alongside Migs, Sakho, Flanno and Coutinho).

Sure, there are better DMs out there but would any of them want to join us right now and is it a high priority area?

To be fair, I think Lucas is a good passer. He can dwell on the ball a bit too long at times but he's quite positive in that he looks forward.

For all the praise Lucas is getting, Can seems to be ignored who has done as good a job if not better.

We've been strongly linked to Rubén Neves who is quality.

    Other DM's I would take:

    Wanyama
    Carvalho
    Krychowiak
    Kramer

I would say it is high priority because we have no depth there.

all way too expensive for us and would be a bidding war for most of them which we couldn't get into.

Would they hey come without cl football as well?

Plus Carvalho did his knee and we have seen what such injuries have done to Lucas and Essien.

Kramer is just another Can potential but not established. But like Gerrez says buy a better player and let them compete.

We will have to splash out - but it's a crucial position, one that we have not filled since Mascherano left. Every top club has a quality DM.

We've been strongly linked with Rubén Neves.

  14. I could change my opinion but then we'd both be wrong

We'll need to replace Lucas eventually and fill that spot but it's not the most crucial spot to fill.

Lucas and Can are both good there. Henderson can play that role well.

Allen is decent for fourth choice for the spot. Plus we have Rozzer and Milner who could both fill in without stinking.

Milner has stunk there...and has stunk anywhere else on the pitch. Sooner we get rid of his £24m contract, the better.

I know you don't like Milner but we disagree there. I think he majorly lacks finesse but does a good and vital job.

Without mentioning work rate or hard work, what has he offered this season?

Assists. Winning ball back. Pressing. Preventing opposition from making quick breaks.

Pretty much a good all round performance off the ball.

On the ball it's a different story. His shots tend to usually end up in the crowds.. But we would have been under a lot more pressure and had to defend against a lot more breaking attacks if we didn't have Milner.

He's not pretty. He's not stylish. He's not going to score many goals but he performs a job. He's Henderson without finess or range of passing.
