Relegation can NEVER be a positive given our financial position!

Don't forget that £40m of that was inherited...

Indeed, but after two years in the Premier League, with an income of £170m, you'd think a business genius could have got it down, rather than almost doubling it.

Hasn't he reduced it since we've been in the PL? I recall it reducing in the last set of accounts, but I haven't looked too closely at this year's. I thought it was up around 90m before promotion.

He paid down about £4m of the debt last season (from memory), but it's increased by much more than that this season.

That's surprising considering we turned a profit, but there you go. What was the profit used on then?

But we turned a profit this summer as well? Doesn't that suggest that the spending this summer was funded by the sales this summer?

The outgoings this summer are far lower than the incomings, but none of that affects the debt in the last accounts, as they don't cover this summers trading.

    That doesn't answer my question.

If we turned a profit in the most recent set of accounts, and it doesn't cover this summer spending - which was covered by the outgoings - then what did the profit from this set of accounts go towards, when it clearly wasn't players?

    Eh?

Accounts are retrospective, they cover the previous years trading and last summer we spent a ****ing fortune.

And yet turned a profit. <doh>

You know profit is the number that gets spat out after taking all expenses - such as player purchases - into account, yes?

I'm asking what that profit was used on.

Actually never mind, we're going round in circles. Debt is lower now than it was when we entered the PL, and debt would be lower still if we were still there. There is nothing positive about relegation in that sense.

Debt after promotion season £72m, debt after first Premier League season £64m, debt after second Premier League season £78m.

    The debt's never been higher.

We took in far more than we spent this summer, which should see this figure reduced, though much will be eaten up by staged payments for players.

Lets say City are promoted again. It's probably a good cycle to be in , A vantage spot of gauging the clubs position. Mixing It up between Premier Lge & Championship. A healthy realisation of the kind of balance required between the 2 Leagues , only if the club , learn from It. A plan really needs to be installed though to secure the dreaded 2 season blip , we keep on inheriting. It's going to pretty Awesome all over again in the off - season , with the transfers and Improvements , Kit Issues pending. etc, should City go up again.

Except the Allams will likely be busy selling which may distract from the whole affair.

The clubs up for sale, now. It's No Mystery. I fail to see how the sale of the club , will be a distraction for the owners, in the off - season. Could you elaborate.?
