I would definitely take Costa but his injury record is concerning.

    The wonderful Garth Crooks

Can someone please tell me what has got into Mamadou Sakho in these past few games? The Liverpool centre-back is playing like a man possessed. He battles for every ball as though his life depends on it.
Yet it was the quality of his distribution that startled me. It happened in the first half when he hit a wonderful Steven Gerrardesque 40-yard diagonal pass for Nathaniel Clyne and he did it again in the second half. This time it was destined for Christian Benteke to attack and set up Philippe Coutinho's second goal.
I said last week that Sakho might be surplus to requirements once Jurgen Klopp gets his chequebook out in the transfer window. But the way Sakho's playing the new boss might start building his team around the France international

That's probably why no one takes you opinion seriously Garth <doh>

Can't stand the man. If he actually bothered to watch Sakho since he arrived, he would have seen it first hand.

I would never take Costa. More trouble than Suarez with 1% of the ability. There are better players out there.

  11. True but so did Suarez!

Not saying I want is to sign Costa, I don't. But I wouldn't mind a player with that nasty side again, it's something we massively lack. (It was why Gerrard got sent off after thirty seconds last season too)

It was too long ago I was saying we should be looking to sign players like Tevez, Lavezzi or Vietto; workaholics that are willing to put a foot in <ok>

I agree that talent and work-rate are the ideal combination, and someone who will put himself about a bit is great for unsettling defenders. Costa has too much thuggishness for the talent, for me. Being banned half the time is only worthwhile if you're bloody amazing the rest of it.
If we buy him I'll have to eat my words- so I hope we don't.

  17. I did say above I didn't want Costa, just a player like him (nor did I mean exactly like him <laugh>)

As you know (and often joined me), I persisted in calling Suarez a **** but he was our ****. As much baggage as he brought to the club, I'd take him back in a heart beat.

Except in London where Terry answers to that name from 15% of the population.
