The early goal made things comfortable. But if the other side scores first that creates problems as you then have to shift up several gears, which isn't that easy. And it depends on a rock solid defense. Defensive cockups earlier in the season cost us points, as sitting on a goal lead or a 0-0 means no major mistakes can be made.

As an exile, when I visit the KC I sit in either South or Upper West (lovely view, nice and peaceful), and have not seen smoking areas in either stand, so forgive my ignorance.

In the South they open the gates at the bottom of the stairwells so you can go out, I don't know about the West Stand Upper, presumably they do it for the lower but it'd be a bit of a trek up and down the stairs.

It is a bit of a trek, but you are allowed outside for a cig.

Yes, nice and peaceful is what you want at a football match.<laugh>

Unfortunately, though you can go out for a smoke, not that I smoke myself, you can't take your drink with you like you can at some grounds. Just as well as my lad would expect me to get the beers in and take them down to him merrily smoking away. He would expect it but wouldn't get it mind.

There was a really good argument in the boozer before kick off. Two Mk fans, both knocking on, I never got chance to ask them if they'd followed them from Wimbledon. They were both so cockney it hurt, one of them actually had an old Wimbledon shirt on.
Anyway he starts moaning to the other one about how poor MK are, not got a forward so wont be able to score. Its going to be his last season etc etc
This old boy in his 70's tore him to pieces.
Kept repeating to him there's 11 players on there anyone can score, show some ****ing support.
He then went do you belive we'll win? Over and over again he said it.
Shirt in the end went, No.

Well **** off then, if you dont believe we can win then whats the ****ing point in going you ****. <applause><applause>

He then turned to me, "How many you win last season?
    8 I say.
And did you believe you'd win the other 30 ****ing games??

    Ye course i did.

You see you **** he believes in his team, do that or **** off!!!

    Top man he was.

Bit sneaky of him to move the goalposts there, though. Big difference between will and can.

Soulless shell of a football ground.
    Most unlikeable club.
    Awful town.
In middle of suburban shopping centre!
Obliged to sit amongst various folk who spent the whole game talking about anything but the game (ok, it was dull).

Hope I never have to go back.

Now Tuesday is the other end of the scale - proper old ground with terracing and atmosphere.

And this arrangement is really bloody annoying
I end up in a round with roughly half smokers and half non smokers
So the smokers have to leave their beers to go for a cig. It's just daft stopping people taking their beers out too
And don't start with all the "if you can't go 90 mins plus without a beer or a cig ...blah blah" either. I can't so it isn't a relevant argument

Then you can imagine what it did to me just now when two separate 5 Live commentators just described "a very unique setting" at the Mexican Grand Prix.

Was there a load of bellends throwing a phone charger round the concourse in a pathetic imitation of what the Barnsley fans did a few weeks ago?
