Stick to what you are good at, in precise terms describe the Referees performance, seemed pretty average to me, let the game flow o.k.
It wasn't Pochettino's fault that we were so wasteful under him (yet we still finished in a good league position). Missing chances is down to the players, not the manager. There were games where tactically he was spot on. We would be all over the other team all game and lose. The loss against Villa at home for example was laughable. We also tended to make more individual defensive mistakes under Pochettino, not his fault either. The squad is different, the players have different strengths and weaknesses. The players that have played under both managers are more experienced now and more level-headed. In world football all the top teams with leads like to control the ball and possession if they can, there's a reason for that (which I've already explained). I don't want to compare the managers as they have both been good ones for us and had different squads. Both of them aren't proactive enough with substitutions, but both have still done well for Saints and shown that they are good managers. And by the way, Koeman method isn't to have 25% of the ball. That wasn't planned. I'm sure at half time the talk was to try to retain control of the football and push for another if we can to kill the game off. I'm 100% sure it wasn't the give Bournemouth all the ball and try to hold out all half!
Today was the first time I wasn't happy after a win. I know that sounds stupid but that 2nd half performance really disappointed me and found it completely unacceptable. I said this before but I'll say it again: We should never, ever have been outplayed as much as we were by virtually a Championship team.
That's on now. They timed it after Anyway I only watch X factor to talent spot. I've heard this music management stuff is easy....
I have been waiting for some common sense, but it takes s man from Northampton to provide it, Southampton folks shape up, the team will not always be perfect, we have now played 11 games and lost 2, to an excellent Everton side & a lucky Man Utd side. We should celebrate wins, yes we could be better, but for you young folks, this is the best team we have had for 30 years, now let's play the long game and support the season and not bemoan that we dropped a level for 40 mins when the game was already won
I said they played very well second half a few pages back. I think that's the best I've seen a side play and not score at St Mary's in a half of football since we went up. They were just as good without the ball as with it second half which was a major pain in the arse. And they had obviously had very good fitness levels as they kept the pressure up until the end. Them not scoring is of course partly down to their lack of quality in the final third without Wilson, but also down to how well we defended (and how composed Stekelenburg looked between the sticks, even if he didn't actually do much of note)
Rather highlights how most of us now have higher expectations, less tolerance of failure because we know they can do better, if only it was as straightforward as that!
Tom you are just a Mr Angry. You a and TinTin should go to the pub and moan together. It's sounds so spoilt when you say "unacceptable" It's a sport with two teams. One may get some joy over the other and vice versa. Bournemouth are a Premier League team, don't be so disrespectful. You need to grow up a bit fella. There. Now there's the ground for the argument you seem so desperate to have.
Shame on plucky Bournemouth's, I think Saints gsve Man City & Utd a scare just after promotion, I guess that is not allowed in the rules according to Tom W
Agreed and this post is the very reason we supporters should be grateful that we won despite not being at our best second half and a timely reminder to some people that it takes two to tango. TOM, PLEASE READ THE POST ABOVE FROM TINTIN AND TAKE NOTE I really can't believe I am holding TinTin up as a shining example to someone, let alone Tom. Tsk, what is the world coming too.
It's not meant to be nice. If this forum still had a dislike button then I would have used that instead. I apologise for the un constructive emoji. But I come back from the game to read what I thought to be over the top reactions to a win.
In fairness, there's a few posts from a few people crediting Bournemouth. In forum terms we're thankfully pretty good at that, and they deserve credit too.
As promised. The whole match in two halves. You can just watch the first again for the entertainment, if you fancy. The second for study. http://www.footballorgin.net/2015/11/premier-league-2015-2016-southampton-v.html
