Agreed LTL - would hope they could survive this season and build from this season but they need something more up front.

Exactly what I wrote earlier in the thread. Whether they will purchase or struggle on remains to be seen. It wouldn't do them any harm at all to buy someone of quality in any case. Charlie Austin springs to mind. The wage demands were apparently half genuine - half fiction, so perhaps he'd consider it now.?

    Plus a couple more maybe.

you wanted changes to be made...

makes you sound a little like your throwing your toys out the pram!

I agree that this is a forum and people are entitled to their views but there comes a point when it takes over the real discussion and becomes boring...

Shows how far we've come - 3 points, outstanding goals, keeper only making one save all match, 7th in prem, 1 defeat in 10

and still some fans are dissatisfied. Be careful or we will end up like the supporters of a top 4 Club and take no joy out of any win! I still get excited when we score, whoever the opposition. Not many top 4 supporters do because they think it's their divine right!

Perhaps expectation is finally taking hold of Saints fans. In truth, this is what comes of a club when the fanbase starts to catch up with the ambition. The next step is for the fanbase to remain confident even if the team don't play quite as well as they should.

For example, was anyone truly worried about the result.? I can honestly say no I wasn't. Didn't even really get fidgety.! My only concern was that we'd be worthy winners because I prefer it when I can see daylight between the teams. As I've said before, I have a huge amount of confidence in this club. There are times when that has to be more than words.

I'll say it again. We got lucky because we were playing one of the worst teams in the league with a toothless attack. If they had Wilson and Gradel available they would have probably scored. And we wouldn't have won that against most of the teams in the PL.

This is a discussion about the match. It's perfectly reasonable to say that we weren't as good in the second half as we were in the first. The fact is Bournemouth were poor and it felt like we took our foot off the gas a bit. Solid defensively but I'd have preferred a bit more offensively in the second half.

It's not being negative, just telling it like it is.

I am unsatisfied because that's two home games in a row where we have been terrible in the 2nd half. And Wanyama was a ****ing idiot. It's laughable people were applauding him off. I wasn't that unhappy with the second half against Leicester because they're a bloody good side and all teams have bad halves. But 2 in a row at home, with the second against Bournemouth? Not acceptable. We're bloody lucky it's only cost us 2 points.

We weren't in it 2nd half. If they'd had a Vardy and a Mahrez we'd have thrown a 2-0 lead away, at home, for the 2nd time. This needs sorting because we won't get away with taking our foot off the gas like that against the better sides.

Glad to get the 3 points but we are still a work in progress. We are too often getting overun in midfield. Looked a bit more solid with Romeu and JWP on the pitch though. Didn't really miss Vic after he went off either.

Yes, but we weren't playing one of the other teams in the PL. We were playing AFCB. The point being that it's enough. If we were playing one of the stronger teams in the PL we would have played better. Sometimes it's difficult to raise your game, especially when you've battered the same team in the first half. We couldn't raise our game in the 2nd half. These things happen. We still won pretty convincingly.

Saints do need to thoroughly learn though that it won't be a cruise in another half just because we've commanded the first. That's where comebacks can happen - Leicester.

I think the concern is how deep we get when we have the lead. Yes, we tend to defend very well but we do not retain possession in the centre of the pitch and unless the opposition over-commit, e.g. the Chelsea game then we just leave our front players isolated. This has been a recurring theme all season and it may also explain the number of bookings collected, as our defence is under pressure. Yes, we are solid defensively and dangerous on the counter but we should be able to do more than hoof and reorganise for the next wave of defending!

These things do happen but it's happened twice in our last 2 home games. We really didn't win convincingly either.

I would also say this is relevant to the Chelsea game and the Man U home game, where we were looking comfortable and let them in.

They didn't score. Yes, it's true this has happened in our last two home games. It needs addressing.

1st half superb, 2nd half was a 'professional, well organised defensive' performance. Koeman was happy with the 2-0, but we gave the ball away far too often.

We do need to keep playing our normal game, and stop taking our foot of the pedal, but that said we won, and we scored great goals.

The ManU game was a series of errors and poor refereeing, so I don't think is a good example. And where was the problem in the Chelsea Away game.?

Personally, I would say there is not an awful lot wrong with this team. A few tweaks and hardening of attitude and they won't give so many of the twitchier fans nightmares. :)
