As kids I can remember we used to simply get one of us to play dead, put them in a wheelbarrow arms and legs hanging out the sides, and knock on doors and wheel him to the front before declaring penny for the guy. We used to get quite a bit, but looking back it was probably more intimidation than admiration of our not so handy work

a turnip a candle from under the kitchen sink (not a t-light) and if you was extremely lucky a black bin liner -

For me it was all about bonfire night and building big bonnies on Akkos / Coltman Street and our group keeping guard on the wood and raiding stacks from as far away as Villa and WoodcockStreet - the big dare was to get wood off St Andrews tho.

it was a sight to behold seeing scrawny 12yr old kids dragging old furniture and old doors around the city streets

I was doing up a house on Holland Street a few years ago and when I returned to it after bonfire weekend the front door was the only door left in the house and half of the kitchen units and floor were gone.

Scratched the 'S' off me Speedo's and hung them in the front bay window last night. That scared the little twats off.

We had over 100 kids blagging sweets last night.

The missus spends two weeks getting chez OLM ready, several ghosts outside, a witch, an 8ft clown (with clown shoes) and a 6ft spider.

Junior got a cab home from Pozition last week and when he gave the driver the address, he said 'is that the Halloween house'? <laugh>

Ugh. I genuinely thought you, or rather your missus would be the opposite. Please tell me you dont do the outside Christmas light bollocks too?

We got off lightly. Only one bunch of kids. I think the Steve Bruce mask I was wearing warned them off.

She generally spends two to three weeks getting ready for Christmas, we usually have about five or six trees, some in rooms we don't even use, but we don't generally have lights outside.

    She's mental.

    Thank god.

    Inside, yeah that's fine.

Anyone going for the Griswald look outside needs a slap.

5 or 6 trees inside is a bit mental mind...

ive never been into the christmas lights thing but gotta admit as i get older i smile more at the crazy LED competition - weve moved to an area where its pretty competitive (around the library on AP)so im told - im not going onto my roof to join in Griswald style , but peer pressure may get me whacking lights on an outside tree :D

There used to be one in my street - Clumber Street - in the 90s. They sat there watching the TV, curtains open, no nets, dazzling strings of lights, they looked like they were in a goldfish bowl. People used to come from all over to see the house, cos it was illuminated all over the outside too.

I walked past once, taking my dog for a piss.

Otherwise, I went to the Polar Bear.

My mate has a 'Christmas' room in his house that he only uses one the one day of the year. The rest of the year it stays locked.

    Only in ****ing Brantingham.
