Partly because of what happened to the proceeds from that east stand development. Were you happy when Bates and his mates trousered your cash? Do you think the people who will sit on a board representing the shares this whip round won't be taking a cut/ getting fat on your money?

As I have said before if someone wants to sit at the top table let THEM pay for it.

That would be fine but over the last 35 years I would imagine I have " invested" more in both cash and time than most here, but I don't believe that gives me any more or less of a right to an opinion on this latest in a long line of whack job ownership schemes at lufc.

As far as I'm concerned, LFU can GTF. They will not get a penny of my money. Why should I fund someone's ego trip when I have no say in what happens. If I buy shares in a company, I can go to the AGM & rant & rave from the floor. Might not change anything, but at least I can be heard. This mob want me to fund their voice without consulting me & the other contributors on what they want. Which brings me to the next point ....

Try to be practical. Can you really see a group of Leeds fans speaking with one voice? Not a chance. Look at discussions on here, & in every other LUFC site. Utter chaos, & next to no agreement. There will be more internal in-fighting than ever if this does go through. Hardly a positive.

One other thing - why is Cellino getting pelters for agreeing to their request in principle? You telling me he wouldn't have got pelters if he said no? The man can't win, can he? Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Jeez, he probably thinks there's not a cat's chance in hell of it happening, but he'd be torn apart for saying it out loud. I think he's taken the diplomatic route & should be given credit for it.

    So there! :D

OK, Einstein, so what SHOULD Cellino have done when the approach was made?

Put the club up for sale for the price he wants so whoever can meet the price and pass fpp can buy it.
    Ask yourself why he hasn't.

Responded like a Tory Cabinet Minister - avoid the question & reply with a question!

He was approached by them - what should his reply have been?

And to answer your question, I think its highly likely that he's in 2 minds at the moment, hence the lack of movement on his part. That's fair enough for me.

Now that I've answered your question, please honestly answer mine. What could he have said to them that wouldn't have generated a vitriolic attack from you. There are only 2 answers ' "YES" & "NO". He's already said "YES" & been slaughtered by you, so does that mean that, like Bates, he should have said "NO"? Or, as I suspect, do you just look for a reason to slaughter him no matter what he says?

He should have told them to come back when they were in a position to meet his valuation. Pending that thousand years passing he should have named his price and said first with the money on the table is the prefered bidder..... Simples

I am totally failing to see this LFU scam as in any way credible...

Although I was against them last time due to them been a set of potless chancers and verity being a Cnut I would see them as a less worse option than Cellino.

Verity is a self publicist of the highest order. Don't know anyone who works with or for him who has a good word to say about him. Farnan wanted everyone else to pay for his seat on the board last time he tried to get into lufc....

They asked for a response 'in principal', and got an affirmative answer. That's all they were looking for at this stage. I would be surprised if he has a firm figure in mind for the purchase, as I truly believe that he has not set the wheels in motion to sell. If I was in his position, I would not be setting a price anyway - I'd simply state that I MAY be interested in receiving a reasonable offer. (Again, If I was the LFU, I'd be asking off the record for a 'ball park' price, and suspect that this may have been asked for & replied to with the agreement that it was not revealed publicly).

I also violently agree that the LFU chaps should not be viewed as a credible candidate for purchase. I truly believe they'll bury us for good. Kinda makes our discussion somewhat academic, but I still believe you look for any excuse to put the boot into Cellino, and this is one of them.

Ok. Let me ask you yes/no question.

Has Cellino PROVED to be a disaster as an owner at LUFC?

Last time, I answered your question even though you didn't have the courtesy to answer mine. Not this time. I'm still waiting on your answer to my first question, which was very specific - having been asked by LFU if he'd sell, in principle, he has the choice of a yes or no answer. Which SHOULD he have responded with?

And I truly believe that you would have slaughtered him no matter what answer he gave. So, tell us. A one word answer, or prove that you have an agenda to rubbish him whatever he says (which is fairly obvious to us all, btw. Just seems to be you that doesn't acknowledge it). *no smiley*

Suspect all concerned know the ball park figure ... http://www.insidefutbol.com/2015/11...simo-cellinos-leeds-united-sale-push/249903/?

While Leeds United majority shareholder Massimo Cellino has declared his willingness to sell the club to supporter group Leeds Fans United, it has been claimed minority club shareholders GFH Capital may be less than keen to follow suit.

Cellino has become convinced that the time is right to exit Elland Road after fans turned against him during Leeds' 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Thursday evening.

It remains unclear however whether Leeds Fans United have the means to meet Cellino's asking price as the Italian at a minimum wants the money he has lavished on the club to be repaid; though he did vow to sell his shares without profit.

But the club's fans may have a tougher time buying out GFH Capital.

Indeed, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, GFH Capital appear to be sitting on their 22 per cent shareholding with a view to making a profit in future.

It remains to be seen whether GFH Capital are spurred to put their shareholding up for sale if Cellino does successfully exit the club.

The price Cellino is looking for in order to sell his shares remains unclear, but he was reported to have put a between £50m and £60m asking price on his holding when reports of Red Bull being keen to buy the club hit the headlines.
