Agree on Sturridge.....I think when he's fit he is one of the sharpest strikers in the league. We have to give him the rest of the season to
show he can stay fit for a length of time. If he's playing he scores goals

Is 10million towards a good striker better than paying out 6 million in wages for someone who will play maybe 10 to 15 games a season

    Agreed.

I do think we need to be ruthless with some players and get them out - but Sturridge does deserve some time.

I'd probably give him next season too personally.

Not disputing that, not many can come back in after a lay off and bang in two solid goals, but we've had 3 years or so of evidence from him and the verdict is that most of the time he's injured or 'not fit'

Depends on how many goals he scores.

He's scored 42 goals in 69 appearances for us which is quality.

I'm not disputing his stats , I'd keep him on a pay as you play contract with a very low basic wage for his absences e.g 1000 a week for when he's on the treatment table.

Would he agree to that ? I doubt it so I'd cash in.

Fair point, I don't think he would.

I do think its a little early to be writing him off though.

If we sell him now its obvious to the reasons why.

I think we're better off waiting a bit even if his value drops a few million.

I mean we're prepared to spunk huge sums elsewhere!

Personally think we need to avoid the constant churn of 7-8 players per season we saw under BR & the comittee if only cos it cost a fortune. It also depends on other clubs wanting our offloads e.g. Enrique though isn't his contract up at end of season anyway.
Allen is one who seems likely to be sold and possibly one of Skrts/Lovren and possibly Lucas again all depending on other clubs wanting them.
    Wisdom - get shot
Albert - can't see him fitting into Klopps high energy tactics so goodbye.
Ilori - never seen him play so can offer no opinion (which since we have owned him for well over 2 seasons after paying £7m is frankly ridiculous)
Ballotelli - get shot tempted to say literally but perhaps a bit OTT.Best we can hope is another loan.

    Need a LB
a good CB to partner Sakho

I think that as long as we get the back 4 sorted and play as a unit a good shot stopper for those mad moments is exactly what we need. He's improved no end and deserves a bit of faith after working hard to establish himself as someone worthy of being our No.1

He came and forged the best strike partnership in the prem 2 years ago, has a better goal to game ratio than most others we've had. Only lfc player to score in 8 games in a row in the prem...

How ow can you moan about us signing him <doh>

He he hadn't really had any serious injury problems before joining us either.

Since Sturridge signed for us in January 2013 he has missed 74 games and counting, through injury that's almost 2 full league seasons to put in perspective.

The SAS season was an anomaly for many reasons. Sturridge being fit and in form for the majority of it was only one of them <ok> it was the exception, not the rule

Sturridge has always been drafted back to the starting XI the second he was declared fit so no wonder he's suffered from constant injuries and probable mental weakness when it comes to confidence in his body/injuries. Now with Benteke and Klopp seemingly happy to play Firmino there, he doesn't need to be.

Give him time, he's an absolute quality player when fit. We should be focusing our efforts in slowly getting him to full fitness, not posturing where we can offload him to.

Wouldn't sell Migs but we do need to upgrade. He's a good number 2 though.

not saying that we sell them all in one go but I want them to phased out over next 2 Windows:

    Enrique
    Skrtel
    Lovren
    Lucas
    Milner
    Allen
    Mario

I don't think these players have a future with the club be it ability wise or suit the style.

I would also sell Benteke and Lallana. Now, I think they're good squad options to have but I think we can recoup £30-35m for the pair and that can go on players who can start in the first team but also suit Klopps style.

Lucas has been brilliant and Benteke is our only goal threat. After spending 30m on him would be ridiculous to try and get rid now.

Lol I would only sell them because they would fetch quite a bit of money. If we can spend freely without having to sell them, then perfect. To

Lucas hasn't been brilliant. He's been good but he doesn't have the energy or mobile enough to play in this team.

But would you rather swap Benteke for someone who is a better fit for what Klopp wants? He's a very good plan b though.

Doesnt have the energy or mobility yet is still playing well and first name on the team sheet in midfield <ok>

how ow do you know what Klopp wants? Is suggests given Klopp apparebtly wanted Benteke at Doetmund then he's exactly what he wants.

He hasn't even settled properly and he's still got 4 goals in 8 appearances (6 starts) for us
