Next 2 games are Norwich then Bournemouth. We need at least 4 points to get the show back on the road.

A defeat and a draw (or worse <yikes>) would mean Huw and the Board having to dust off Plan B........

Swansea City manager Garry Monk: "There were a lot of positives in our play and we were exceptional in the first half. We should have taken the lead when we were on top.

"We gifted them two goals and you can't do that against any team, let alone Arsenal. I'm disappointed to lose, but I think the scoreline flatters Arsenal."

Why is it almost every manager, without exception, always come out with a load of ****e publicly, and then do nothing about the abject display privately.

I`m not only blaming Monk for his lack of a plan A, never mind B,C,D etc. We should have got rid of Gomis when he threw his tantrum. The defence is getting woeful collectively. Passing, or lack of it, is rapidly going downhill. Has be a tie even got any idea how to coach the forwards to score.

Lose next Saturday and it`ll be bottom four not top four for us at the end of the season. Monk may well be relegated if we lose to Norwich & Bournemouth.

Perhaps the coaches should also catch a coach, `cos they`re not doing their job properly.

    Rant over...........................................................................................................................for now. :steam:

Given the obvious quality we have, why are they playing so poor? Makes you wonder not if Monk has lost the plot, more like the dressing room?

He is not good enough....simple. The players are good enough but Monks team selections and substitutions during a game stagger me at times. Why take 85 mins to bring your last 2 on, when 3 down. Britton should have been on with 30 to go as he would have upped the temp IMO. We had no urgency and were frankly awful. The board have a lot to lose if they get this wrong. I'd rather see a change now and give a new manager Jan to bring in fresh talent. Monk won't.....after all, we have $8m of signings waiting for a sniff of a chance but they seem to be the forgotten men. Maybe they were board signings and Monk being the arrogant and stubborn man he is just won't play them because they weren't his signings.

I will state the obvious and some will not like it, Monk has not a clue, love him for being a club legend or not ffs I would rather someone who was not affiliated to the ckub. Gomis is a walking ****er, if I was manager I would transfer half the morons who are earning the bucks

Why wasn`t anybody on the post for their first goal, if there was it wouldn`t have been a goal. Also, why not keep a couple of players between the penalty area and halfway line when they have corners. It might not work, but it might also have dragged a couple of Arsenal players towards them lessening the danger.

Years ago there would always be players on the posts at corners simply for the option of stopping a goal, as happened yesterday.

When Monk says Tabanou isn`t yet fit, why not, the season`s been going for two months. Was he Monk`s signing or the boards. If the boards, that says a lot.

His name is Leon. Why Monk isn't playing him beggars belief.

It doesn't stagger me anymore because he makes the subs every game and almost at the same time. He takes a winger off and brings one on, he takes, Cork Ki or shelve off and bring on either ki or Cork, whoever is on the bench and then with about 8 to go brings on Eder, It is ****ing pathetic and so predictable.

For all that I actually thought in the first half was probably the best we had played in a long while. Shame we couldn't keep it up and I believe that we are simply not fit enough.

I agree. We played very well first half, though without much penetration. Had Gomis taken THAT chance the game might have turned out differently.

As you say it's all very predictable.

I recon Monks got a Janet and John book on football managing from somewhere, and is following it every game to the letter regardless how the game is going ! There must be someone down there that he will listen to, Curts maybe ? coz he aint been making sense with his subs timing and tactics for a while now has he ?

He got it right v Villa , was that more by luck then judgement I think not , certainly with Barrow coming on there appeared to be huge gaps behind their full back which we made good use of . Yesterday's changes were too late to have any impact on the outcome .

We weren't as good the first half , as they were bad..
The team Wenger had to pick probably never came close to ever playing together and took a half to get going ..
I'm frustrated that only these 10 guys start 95 percent of the time. Its no way to run a team imo.
Injuries or no injuries , Arsenal are a powerhouse these days. They been rolling well since the last half of last season and are carrying on this half season so far..
I didn't expect much from this game and would have rather tried some different players and got nothing from the game than the same team as usual.
Monk will feel cornered a bit and will probably use the same team the next two games desperately seeking points.

Gomis is the problem, sort that issue and maybe we will get back to having a cutting edge up front, he's killing team confidence big time...........<ok>

I think Ayew is the problem. We have had to change the shape of the team to accommodate him.

That was Routledge's best season, and a Michu at his best, it is also good to note that we hadn't played the Cup final yet, after which our form dropped off a cliff, and Laudrop could do nothing to regain it, not even in his second season could he sort the issues out, and we look like we are in a similar place though I do think it all stems mostly from Gomis, and we need to drop him, otherwise we will be dropping Monk instead................<ok>

Yes, to a point I agree, but at least when Ayew gets the ball he doesn't fall over and lose it, and he mostly moves forward with it, Gomis not only cannot hit a barn door, but he gives possession away and puts the whole team on the back foot. I would try Ayew leading the line bring Barrow on the right flank, and make sure that Siggy is back in his comfort zone............<ok>

That would reinstate the "Swansea Way" formation, although we have played it with an out and out striker. I'm not sure of Ayew's best position!
