I reckon he's nailed in on the defensive approach this week mate, of all the managers before us Big Sam steps above them with his extensive knowledge of of how to play teams.. Obviously we lacked that for a while mate!

I'm not getting my hopes built up, we normally fall flat on our arses after beating the town. and that is often after a deserved victory as well. i'll be overjoyed with a draw but as long as we compete i will be happy.

My hope stems from the way Allardyce was so calm after, even during, the derby win.

Di Canio & Poyet both went OTT and I expect the players 'celebrated' ........ Allardyce just shrugged and mentioned Everton.

I don't think the players will be going there with a 'hangover' of any kind.

Di Canio beat Everton after the town i think. The exception to the rule. More of the same please! I remember at the time thinking/hoping that we'd finally cracked it, that this lunatic will scare our players into the right direction, then we got humped off Villa.

    Not in doubt mate.

I was thinking more along the lines that we weren`t exactly brilliant defensively and he might have injuries to cope with. It`s not going to be easy.

Everton are a good side. It`s going to be interesting to see what he comes up with to negate them. This, I think will give us more of an insight.

More of the same from the derby match I expect ........ it's frustrating to watch for our supporters but it also frustrates the opposition.

That's why Newcastle were firing in shots that had no hope of getting through.

Thauvin hit a shot that was so obviously going to be blocked that I thought 'perhaps Allardyce is better than I thought'.

I've seen us play a good style of football in the past but lose and always trudge home afterwards ........ perhaps not losing is better <whistle>

At the moment I couldn't care less if we played the worst football ever seen until we get into a position where we can. Another point of three today would be excellent especially against a team which I class as a higher level of playing talent than ourselves.

We all know that playing under Big Sam won't be pretty and I expect more of the same type of football we saw in the first half last week again this week. No problem from me on that.

But we have to close them down quicker this week. There were some horrifying long runs from the mags last week, 30-40 yards at a time with no one moving out to cover. Kept sending Pants into apoplexy, screaming at his centres to ******* wake up!

If we can keep our discipline and shape I can see us picking a vital away point up. Another clean sheet would be great!

I`m thinking that. Still cover if PVA gets stuck at the sharp end (which he probably will.)

    Bit of pace either side?

Dunno, looks a bit odd like.
