I reckon we'll go for 0-0 and hope to nick a crafty one on the break ..... a point at any away game is gold imo.

Cattermole needs to only get booked if he absolutely has to.

Fletcher would win a lot of people back if he replicated his effort against Newcastle.

I'd love to see Fletch win me over and change my mind.

He's just got to keep this form up and not disappear in games like he's done in the past.

I'm hoping Big Sam's the sort of manager he'll respond to. Early days...

After last week we should be taking a bit more confidence to Everton and Sam will undoubtedly have done his homework. Interesting to see how he sets this one up.

We haven't won at Everton three times in a row in over 100 years. Tomorrow the day to change that?

That would be fantastic if we did it, but I will be over the moon with a draw tbh, it is rumoured that JR is being considered as a stand in CD against his old club, you never know how these moves turn out but it is worth atry imo, I would love to see him come in and give a MOM performance against his old club.

It's the Sunderland way mate. How many times have we won a game, things looked up then we've lost to a relegation fodder team?? Hopefully BSA will sort it out and stop this bad habit!

Point away from is always good against any opoanant. I'd take that now mate.

I've been wanting to see Rodders at cb ever since he came. He falls short of being a good midfielder but has every attribute to be a very good ball playing cb

Oh I like the sound of that!

Its about time we became someone else's bogey team!

Edit: Apart from the mags of course

West brom is our bogey team these days. Need to shrug that monkey. More interested in putting a stop to our bogey teams than making ourselves others their bogey team. It would bring a bit more consistency in the short term.

A draw is a good result and I'd be happy with that

It is and I will be as well, but a win and we are out of the bottom three and only two points behind Chelsea. Now that would be nice.

We'd have taken that at the beginning of the season - if only we knew <laugh>

Hard game against a good Everton side, but if we can keep it tight at the back then there's no reason we can't get a point, a point would be a good result down there as well. I can see Lukaku giving our defence a really tough afternoon though and think we'll probably get beat by a goal or 2, I'd predict a 2-1 home win but if we can frustrate them and keep at nil nil into the second half I'd give us a decent chance of getting a point or even nicking all 3.

Excellent post and exactly how I feel about the match.

As a supporter I never usually want a dreary 0 - 0 but that's exactly what I think we'll go for and what I want.

Allardyce isn't a panic merchant and he knows progress will be a a long & hard fought affair.

Not losing an away game, after a home win, is how he operates.

It would set us up for the subsequent home game, against Southampton, and give everyone hope, players included.

So it wouldn't surprise me if Larsson starts and we play Fletcher as a very lone attacker.

This is really the first away game Sam`s had time to think about since he came into the spotlight. The first was on him before he`d got his hat and coat off.

Must admit I was concerned about the amount of possession we allowed the mags. As we know it turned out to be worthless but Everton are a much better side, and, if we allow them the same amount of possession, they are much more capable of doing something with it.

On the other hand we do have a bit of pace on the break to give them something to think about. They can`t afford to be too cavalier.

I think I`d settle for a point now but it`s going to be interesting to see how Sam sets this one up. Obviously there are defensive concerns but hey, that`s nowt new.
