"Fabianski simply cannot kick to a Swans player when kicking long. 9/10 he gives it away to the opposition - so this keeps giving possession away, and inviting pressure on ourselves"

But the midfield should share a lot of the blame, when for example Fed or Ash has the ball unless someone in front of them shows for the ball then it goes back , then forward to Ash again but at a shorter distance because the opposition have closed down the space forcing yet another hurried pass between the defence and Fabianski who then tries to find a man normally under pressure by being pressed forcing the ball ,hence the mistake in distribution.

Pressure from the opposition forces mistakes and villa and others have done a lot of that this season. Why you may ask and the answer is simple......Teams dont see us as a small club with mediocre players anymore and they know they have to stop us playing at our best and that's the game plan by every opposition. Teams know fully well that if they give us space we will out play any team and that's why the opposition players are on our players like a rash this season trying to force errors. Next week we will have to smoother Arsenal or they with their better players will win with room to spare, We usually win / draw or run the bigger teams close as we try and stop them playing their normal game and it's difficult and that's what most oppositions do to us now to stop us playing. We are doing just fine considering the difficulty we have and with 13 points from 10 games is very good for a team of our size and as long as we keep going as we are then a top half finish is well within our capabilities...

The one problem our managers have is they are always far too slow to react to the striker conundrum, it doesn't matter who is in charge it seems they back up striker is never given the chance to prove himself. The first striker can have a 20 game goalless streak and still he is guaranteed his place in the starting XI.

    It's something I don't understand.

It's like every new manager who comes to us gets a " You can only use one striker card " upon arrival , the reasoning eludes me also.

I can see monks point in persisting with gomis but i think he should start with Eder or Emms if fit for a few games and use gomis off the bench if needed. Williams could do with a short break also as the minutes he has played for the club and wales must take it's toll and a few mistakes by him are beginning to appear.....

Sounds like here Monk needs to get a lot of players back to the basics of passing and moving plus the old chesnut over the years of how to cross on the run ? then how to adjust the game plans as each game progresses with plan A,B,C ? Not good at this level or time but may need sorting out again ?

All teams are in the same boat We are all not getting results that we think we should and that is because the gap that use to be vast is now very much smaller and its very hard to win against anyone.......

I would like to think we are going to shake things up in our front line for the next game, surely we cannot possibly start with Gomis again…… .. <ok>

Modesty forbids that I concur with your kind sentiment.

I think we should try Ayew in the Striker position, he has all the characteristics of a Striker, and start Barrow on the right flank...............<ok>
