Rick skelton's match report: http://boothferrytowembley.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/mk-dons-0-hull-city-view-from-stands.html
I went today. My thoughts on the match. City played poorly but scored two good goals and MK Dons were even worse. We can't play that poorly again surely. We gave possession away too cheaply, and it seemed everytime we went forward in the second half, one of our strikers was stood offside. Seriously pisses me off when strikers can't be arsed getting onside. Having said all that, McGregor did nothing all match but irritate their fans by trying to run down the clock. Wasn't impressed by taking off both our strikers with 20 minutes to go. Interesting verbals from a section of City fans after a few lads in the upper tier started singing "remember you're a womble" & "you're the scum of the football league" and a few turned on them. This verbal argument was more enjoyable than the match, i thought. For their fun day & at those prices, the crowd from both sides was pretty poor. As for Milton Keynes, ground tick, nice ground, weird concourse in that you can see everything going on on it from the stands. The place is just roundabouts & warehouses. Soulless & ****e.
I'd agree with Hank. The place felt soul-less. You could see what they're trying to achieve with the new stadium, the retail park around it, swanky concourse, all the awards they displayed as having won, etc but it all seemed hollow. Didn't seem to be much interest or passion from the home fans. Can't quite put my finger on it.
Great Day as always. Met Up with my Sheffield United supporting mate who joined the Tiger nation for the day... Fell asleep on coach home near Leicester And woke up as we got to the kc Staying at nephews tonight in Hull . Can we move there Stadium to Hull and give them the KC.
Stadium is wasted on them Great to see so many young mk fans going though The Allans need to have family days at Hull City and TRY to get more seats filled
Agreed, the place is huge, spreading people out really doesn't help the atmosphere, didn't realise they had their own fans up there as well, couldn't see that from the bottom tier.
Yes and ours is just wonderful isnt it. That beautiful walk down Anlaby Rd, the fly over, Coltman St, coming up Anaby Rd-gorgeous, a railway line blocking the stadium oneside, a **** hole of a car park full of pools of mucky watter. Give me their stadium and surrounds anyday. Any way your post says you went today at 12:44-void We'd be about the same in a 30,000 stadium Cortez. What was around their stadium is exactly what should be around ours.
The stadium cost about the same as the KC, despite being built more recenty, they seem to have got far better value for money. Asda paid £35m for their part of the site and Ikea £24m for theirs.
Strange how people see things different. I thought there stadium was fantastic as did the juniors...If we had an owner who at least tried too get more fans to go we could actually increase our clubs support . Away fans to spread out though resulted in different chants been sung at the same time The juniors would have loved to have got there alot earlier and gone shopping. I would swap the KC for there stadium if it could be moved to Hull Its wasted on Mk Dons though
