The injury time shown is a minimum. If the referee wanted to add two and a half minutes, the board would say two minutes still. In theory, the ref could want to add 2min 59secs, the fourth official would still show 2mins on the board as it's a minimum.

Besides, arguing over thirty seconds is pretty poor. Maybe the Chelsea players shouldn't have stopped at 47mins, maybe they should have played until the whistle.

Lucas is getting better and better this season and is now looking much more physically fit, he's getting round the pitch well and doesn't look sluggish, his return to form is a massive bonus and I think he and Can are forming a good little partnership in the middle, just need Henderson back now to replace Milner and that will be a pretty solid trio.

 

Irony is dead when Costa harangues the referee to send off Lucas after what he himself got away with.

 

Any news on Costa? He should be retrospectively banned.

 

What a result. People can say Chelsea are rubbish at the moment etc but that doesn't matter, what matters is how our players view the result and the belief it can give the squad. We may not look mind blowing but we do look a tough team to crack ( which is something we haven't been for a long time)

Fair point regarding Lucas.

He is one of the senior member of the squad now and has seen quite a bit at the club.

Hopefully he can revel in this role and has learnt a bit of the influence off of Stevie.

Lucas was good in the last few Rafa years too... Which incidentally is the last time a manager was good at Liverpool.

 

We are lucky not to have sold Lucas.

 

We were cracked with 3 minutes, mate! But yes, we were the better team. When it was 1-1 I thought "We're going to blow two points against this bag of ****e'. Willian aside, they're dreadful. Let's not hide from the fact that our left back thinks he's a left winger and, for great spells, we gave the ball away more than we kept it agianst a team unable to tackle nor effectively close down space.

However - I do feel slightly more hopeful of an eventual fourth place now that one of the 'nailed-on' sides (an expression I used too, I admit it) will struggle to make to top six, let alone take a CL berth. Let's hope we keep this momentum up - we have only City to play away then we'll face all of last season's top four plus Spurs and Everton to play at Anfield in the second half of the season. Hendo, Studge (?), and possibly Ings and Gomez to come back before the run-in, still in the LC and Europy. Not getting carried away, but there's a lot for Jurgen to work with in his first season.

What is a joke is Harry Redknapp banging on about how average the team is and talking about where the goals are coming from, then at the end he's talking about how Coutiniho is a good little player and Benteke is great player etc. I have always found him alright but recently he's been like a typical cockney tagnut.

 

If you close your eyes and listen to him he sounds just like The Old Woman on the Steve Wright show.
