Blatter will be carried out of FIFA Haus in Zurich feet first before he gives up his place as generalissimo of football.

He's got a corrupt system in place that he knows will ensure his continued re-election, and should it ever look as though he might lose any vote in the future, he has the authority to change the rules to another system that WILL re-elect him.

If it wasn't such an obscene abuse of power, you could almost admire the bloke for his sheer brass neck.

But even he can't live forever and we can only hope that at the age of 78 (79 in March), a fortuitous aneurism, or brain haemorrhage or even just plain old Anno Domini will take him. Just one tip: Somebody please put a stake through his heart, just to make sure.

When the glorious day comes, I think a coalition of football fans from all over the globe should march on Zurich, occupy FIFA Haus and refuse to move until a genuinely acceptable replacement is put in place.

So the grubbiest World Cup ever is to go ahead in the middle of the European season. Blatter and his cronies have pissed all over football fans and continue to get away with it. Migrant workers continue to work under conditions of slavery in one of the world's richest countries. Qatar have always been assured by Blatter that the decision to hold the World Cup there will never be reversed, so they can rest assured that no matter how many construction workers are killed everything is hunky-dory with FIFA. I expect Blatter, like J Edgar Hoover, will die in office, so he may well still be there in 2022.

What a surprise- Blatter is the only one of the four candidates to reject the offer of a televised debate. That would be much to open and transparent for young Sepp.

Yet he's still hot favourite for the role. Though I think Figo wouldn't have run for election unless he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

He's got the African federations in his pocket, probably the Asian ones even though the Prince is one of their own. Why should he risk being shown up for the devious manipulative power-broker that he is by being confronted by honest questioning? He's got it sown up without giving Europe a second thought. I think there's a very good chance he'll die in office like J. Edgar Hoover did.

<laugh> was trying to think of a subtle way to imply the same last night. I wouldn't have beaten that.

"This is an absolutely disgusting declaration you are doing here. I reject it"- Blatter's response when asked if it was right that he is relying on the support of African football head Issa Hayatou to secure his re-election, given Issa's 2011 reprimand for taking back-handers.
    Shock horror indeed.

It is a registered charity. Fifa pays little tax in its home country of Switzerland. It also requires tax exemption in countries wishing to host a World Cup competition. "Any host country requires a comprehensive tax exemption to be given to Fifa and further parties involved in the hosting and staging of an event," a Fifa spokesman told the BBC last year. The 2010 tournament - the most expensive yet - cost South Africa 33bn rand (£3bn; $4.86bn). But a "tax-free bubble" was established around the event at Fifa's request, relieving Fifa, its subsidiaries, and foreign football associations of any obligation to pay income tax, customs duties or VAT

Qatar National Bank League in Indonesia suspended after 2 games due to alleged widespread club corruption. I'm sure Sepp will come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Honest Sepp has now confirmed that the decision to hold the World Cup in Russia was rigged, ie decided some time before the bidding process took place. I expect the FA and all other parties involved in this country and others to sue FIFA for the money wasted on a rigged process.

Not only that but Bladder confirmed that Platini was going to support USA for the 2022 WC but then he and Tsar-cosy went to Dubai for a massive arms deal, when it was signed he suddenly said UEFA were supporting the Dubai WC bid ............. you can never trust a Frenchman (except for the Kermorgant's ... lovely family) who tend to look after their own interests ..first ... second ... third and all the way down to last!

That's a big admission by Honest Sepp, that the decision was already taken. Has he bought immunity yet?
Greg Dyke wittering on about how lovely it would be to get the money back from England's pointless bid makes him sound like an idiot. Get out Greg, and let someone with an idea about football take over.

They analysed the TV coverage of the Russia announcement on TV last night...you could clearly see the Russian delegation begin cheering 5 seconds before Blatter said the word "Russia".

Fat Swiss canary is singing now. Today, the Spanish rep, Villar, has been outed for rigging votes with his South American amigos. I bet he feels chuffed he voted for Led Sepplin back in march. It goes a way to explaining the fact the Spanish voted for a man who at that point reeked of corruption. Barcelona's backing of the Qatar bid needs no explanation. Qatar pay for their name on the shirts and, apparently, unswerving loyalty. What a crew....
