And me. Denice's sister asked me what outfit I was wearing for it and I told her to **** off <laugh> Mind you, I'll be better off out of the house with all those brats knocking on <grr>

I had a good think about the other situation. I could have made it happen, but there was just too much potential for a messy situation and possibly even physical violence. Her hubby's is a big guy and not a full shilling <yikes>

They had a sense of humour, often self deprecating- something that St. Neil, for all his talents, singularly lacks.
They were a good band in their time. Interminable soloing was the order of the day then, so they fitted right in.
Shame so many of them died in that way.

I saw him live last year and believe me, he does have a sense of humour. He also massively prefers Liverpool to London, where he'd played the previous night. He's also a total legend.

Skynrd were very good, but for Southern Rock, listen no further than the Allman Brothers Band <ok>

Allman brothers had some good songs too. A lot of their songs are too long though... <laugh> I don't have a 7 minute attention span.

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils are my favourite southern rock band. Atlanta Rhythm Section had a few good songs too.

I'm sure he's a laugh a minute in the pub, but his lyrics-shall we say- tend towards the earnest side.

I like Halloween but don't like the typical English ****e Halloween party and associated tat, the Yanks, Scots and Irish do it much better. Got asked to one tonight at some venue so it's avoid that, will listen to Hector Berlioz's Symphony Fantastique on my good headphones instead, carve a pumpkin, meet a few homies for a few scoops then come back for some bottles at home.

Sod that Yank trick or treat stuff. When did we absorb that bit of "culture"?
Blackmailed by a load of surly looking, threat-mumbling mid-teenagers into giving them money or else they play a "trick" on you- like stuffing a turd through your letterbox or strangling your cat. No thanks.
Take me back to the time when some cute little toddlers would come to your door and ask you for a penny for the "Guy" - an unrecognisable jumble of cast-off rags with a netball for a head in a wheelbarrow . You politely tell 'em to **** off, they all burst into tears and run off and that's the end of that.
    Back to Berlioz and booze.
    Proper Halloween.

It's not 'til tomorrow, btw. <ok>

Apparently the Halloween do at the Cheese was a proper let-down. Denice and her sister got dressed up, but no one else.

How could she tell? Isn't the cheese full of pirates, thieves, and bandits on a daily basis anyway?

It was just a **** turn-out. I'd been out pretty much all day, so there was no way I was up for it. Watched the 'Stop Making Sense' D VD followed by 3 episodes of 'Breaking Bad' whilst getting properly scattered <laugh>

I was off on Monday. Had an appointment at the quack's to persuade him to prescribe me diclofenac for the arthritis in my knees. They don't like prescribing it due to alleged side-effects. He asked me to try naproxen for a fortnight and if that wasn't doing it, to phone in and he'd give me diclo. That's a result as the black market stuff is getting harder to come by.
