Anyone here get into the 'spirit' of this celebration? any of your family kids go trick or treating?- I've never have seen the point of it ( just another commercial excuse for the shops to sell all the ****e costume and mask merchandise) and I bloody hate it especially when I'm gigging on a All Hallows evening - like when asked 'can you play Don't Fear the Reaper' - or even God help us 'Thriller' - No! **** off ... On the subject of 'shock horror' I've noticed on social media in the run up to the 31st has lot's of themed 'scary' (and in my mind not particularly amusing) video's that 'pranksters' make to try scare the bejesus of people such as So what would you do if you found yourself on the receiving end of such a stupid prank? fight-or-flight? this fella has the right idea ...
Something else imported from the USA. No doubt my son & youngest daughter will be going around the village trick or treating. It's nights like that I wish I had three Alsatians so I could leave them out in the garden.
I have hired a cabin in the woods for 18 people, heading down for a weekend of drinking lots of booze and eating **** food. Don't normally celebrate it or even acknowledge it to be honest, but looking forward to my weekend.
No interest whatsoever, and I would imagine that even my youngest kid who is 13 will not be bothering this year.
Don't know which I find most annoying - stupid American ideas or the fact that British people seem to think they have to copy - especially when it involves more unnecessary expense. Weren't we fine when we just concentrated on our own bonfire night .Wasn't that much friendlier and community spirited. Apparently Walmart were pressured into removing from their shelves childs Israeli army uniforms they had as Halloween costumes. ??? Why, when Halloween is about ghosts and witches and zombies, collecting ''candy'' and fun, would anyone want to introduce young kids to soldiers, least of all ones from another country, killing. hatred ,politics international conflict etc. And the USA think the world should be like them ?
An absolute pile of American influenced ****e, and the fault lies solely with the parents for allowing it to happen. There was someone on the telly the other night talking about when they were kids carving out their pumpkins, well when we were kids we had no idea what a pumpkin was, we hollowed out a turnip, or a "narkie" as we called them, and that was it, none of this knocking on people's doors begging for money. It's a sad reflection on our society when all of our own traditions are being replaced by the nonsense that people see on the telly.
That's a lot of people for Jason to bump off. Whatever you do, do not have sex with the sluttiest bird straight away, they are normally the first to go.
Halloween is traditionally the eve of the celebration of the traditional Christian All Saints day and has nothing to do ghouls, beasties, witches etc., Yet another Christian Festival hijacked by the devil worshipers and we should not be encouraging our children to celebrate such things. It is an American festival the same as Mother' Day is, ours of course being another Christian Festival known as Mothering Sunday. People in this country follow the Americans like sheep.
If you do see Jason its pointless running. He will just walk. Even if you go as fast as colo the clown trying to clatter someone. Jason and his speed walking always catches you.
