We've got the best football statistical analysis in the World lad in this country lad.

The stats matter because the outputs are what the game is all about. Not just the obvious stats, the tackles won, distance covered, key passes made etc etc etc.

You Tube players who can show glimpses of talent but rarely translate that into something tangible aren't what win you football matches. It's players that deliver consistently that do. You can't understand the difference, as you see the latest European flavour of the month mentioned and automatically decide he's an 'elite talent' based on **** all but some jarg you've read on the net.

Don't try and tell me that you personally scout these players in their respective leagues via internet streams and are coming up with independent personal reviews of the players you bring up. Are you **** as like, you're latching onto some FIFA 'best buy' and deciding that you're the font of all knowledge on the European game.

    You talk absolute pap.

So as mentioned, you don't actually watch players, you just off of stats from wiki? But I'm the weird one who actually watches player performances to base my opinion?

I don't watch most YouTube compilations as they're often misleading. But there are compilations which show a players every touch in a game, which are far better.

Then I actually watch matches live or download matches. We live in an Information Age - everything is accessible. You're just too narrow minded to believe that fans these days have a better understanding of football outside of this country.

And you're right - outputs do matter. But more importantly, it's how you get that output. And that's the bit that you don't see.

  5. The only way you could watch as much football as you claim is if (a) you don't work, (b) you don't sleep and (c) you have no other life beyond football <ok>

    Yet more pap.

Most people have a far better understanding of football beyond these shores in the modern age. However, that doesn't mean that they can profess to be experts on a particular league or have anything other than a passing knowledge on specific players.

You don't watch hours and hours of continental downloaded live football, and you know you don't. There's **** all else to add.

I agree with Tobes. The stats any attacking player should be looked at are assists, chances created and goals. I'm not really fussed on reading pass completion or cross completion, your job is to set up and score goals, simple as that.

Lucas you can pull all the stats out for him as his role is different.

Chances created and clear cut chances are far better than assists.

Bentekers has declared himself fit for tomorrow which is good. Going to need to him defensively for set pieces as well as an attacking threat.

  19. Would you look beyond assists? Ie, the third or fourth pass back from the actual goal? Where they involved in the build up play? What about if their movement is what created the space for the opportunity?

Also, what if the strikers flops at chances? Wouldn't that impact on the players assists record? In that situation, you're partially judging a player on his teammates abilities!

Stats are only a guide, they don't tell you the full story. Never have and never will.

I agree. You've said numerous times that you need two players to get the assist - person making the pass and someone finishing it. It's not fair if you provide chances to a striker only for him to fluff it at the end.

Suarez contributed far more beyond his goals and assists - he would be involved in goals without even touching a ball, through his clever movement and dragging defenders away.
