When I saw it at the game I didn't think it was a penalty. Now I've seen it from multiple angles I think VVD won the ball, but it looked a bit of a clumsy challenge and from where the ref was stood, I'm not sure he could even have seen that he won the ball since it carried on rolling in the same direction. I think it falls into the category of I've seen them given, but he was a little unlucky.

The showy hatred towards Twatcheeks is a game for most of us. We felt, and still feel, betrayed by his departure. But there is an exquisite ironic twist about it. He has gone downhill while Saints have got even better. The supposed gulf in quality just isn't there anymore, as pundits now compare us as direct rivals, going so far as to suspect that we might be the superior team.

With some people, the hatred might be genuine, and that's silly. With a significant amount of us, it's a showy hatred which is a game because, we want to do it, it's fun, and we'll continue to do it until we feel satisfied. Personally, I don't hate anybody. I certainly don't hate Twatcheeks. I'm just enjoying the time where we are reminding him of what he said and what he then did. It's silly, I know, juvenile and any amount of other non-adult emotions, but it's rare for adults, certainly very rare indeed for me, to behave irresponsibly. Give it another season or two and we'll get over it, but until then, we're having too much fun. :)

Whether it was a penalty or not is not related to whether the man was fouled, but to the score at the time. Fact. <laugh>

Bloody hell, if you can change the French, mate, I'll sell tickets for that. I too am in France, but I am scouring the flights and have decided I'll drive if necessary. You part time supporters make me sick!

I text my mate who was in another part of the stadium at half time "Zzzzz....Lack of pace in the team, playing Yoshida at right back just isn't working. Both full backs are offering nothing going forward."

Happy to swallow a bit of pride there :) Although I stand by my opinion. No issue at all with Yoshida & Targett in their defending and that's the primary objective, but think they both need to offer more going forward.

Targett is a young man and Yoshida is still learning the role, but when they have no pace to beat a player and their crossing is not great then we're kind of impotent as a team.
Whether the scoreline and Villa's approach helped as well, but I thought Targett looked better with Tadic ahead of him

I was there when Maya scored. :)

Nothing that hasn't been said already, but we coasted it, I never felt we would cock it up after seeing a short spell of Villa.

Happy days. Well done to Saints on getting a full house in, too.

Not even the French can change the French.

Not like you to pass over the opportunity to use your usual "Mange Tout, Rodney" line. Standards are slipping. It's Canard, Del ...

The best things about the French which they shouldn't change are Rhone wines, confit de canard, the Luberon, foie gras and that is about it. I would probably like the people if they were more like the Italians.

I had to have it done a few years ago. It was a snip.

It is best to have it done as a baby because it is shear agony to wake up in the middle of the night with an erection when your penis is held together by stitches!
