    Wasn't 'I, Diverticulitis' that 70's drama with Derek Jacobi?

    Must be a posh infirmary if you get the theatre of an evening. You have to pay for tellys in most hospitals these days.

    Hopefully you won't have too many problems. It can be unpleasant, I know someone who suffers from it with little effect with a change in diet but of others with more complicated problems but they are much older than you.

    Hope you get your CT scan results quicker than me. Was sent for one 5 weeks ago (one of those where they blow air up your arse after dieting for a couple of days and taking a foul liquid)after spending a couple of weeks hooked up to 5 different antibiotics in an isolation room due to an infection. Still waiting the results.They thought it could be my pancreas as insulin levels were haywire, then gall bladder due to bowels alternating between constipation and the runs. After a couple of weeks they said they were no wiser to the causes.

    Take an iPad or something similar in. My local hospital gives you a choice of a communal telex or nothing. Unless you are "lucky" enough to be poorly enough to be in your own room as I was recently. Even then the channels were limited and reception poor. Thank heaven for a good wifi connection.

    I'm still waiting for an appointment to find out the results of a CT scan I had seven weeks ago and as the appointment date is always set for several weeks after the letter arrives, it's likely to be three months from start to finish. It's crap.

    ****ing hell that's grim.

    Telex is a glorified teleprinter which produces dot-matrix order forms, one step up from a frigging telegram.

    At least it was last time I saw one.

    Which was when I was working for Fenners.

    In the early 1980s.

    Anyway Carmine, just thought you'd like to know that me and the Missus are currently enjoying a 5 star luxury cottage in the Angus Glens. Underfloor heating. Split level lounge. Landscaped grounds. Coloured, flashing exterior lighting. Massive bed. En-suite. Eggs laid by the chickens in the garden. Coffee machine. The dishwasher even has tablets provided.

    Drinking a decent bottle of Pinot Noir.

    About to make an authentic Sri Lankan curry.

    With Naan, popodoms and everything.

    Get well soon. :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Luv Ern.

    And people say there's a lot of nastyness and hatred on this forum.

    I've just thought I'm off tomorrow, are there any fit nurses Carmine? I'll come for a visit, what ward you on?
    I'll bring some hard boiled eggs and nuts for you.. <ok>

    How the hell did it autocorrect to that?

    Last time I used one was in 1974.

    Did you know George Slater at Fenners?

    I used a telex machine every day for years, it used to be the main way of communicating with Hong Kong. You paid per letter, so there was a telex language a little like modern text speak...

    TKS CU THEN ++
    RGR CUL +++

    Them were the days...

    Anyone else think this forum is turning into 'Emergency Ward Ten'?

    Lambo with his St. Pancras; me with hardly a leg to stand on; Castro with his unknown ailment and now the Don with his diversions....

    Jesus Christ - we're a sick bunch.
