im not denying Gazza has a problem , but why did he and his hangers on feel it necessary to do a very public turn and wait for some sort of celebrity mercy drop to be whisked to the states If he and /or his "friends " wanted to help they could have done this privately in the UK like most people Poor Gazza indeed but it was all a bit self indulgent and selfish on his and his erm friends parts
Was meaning I would want to be put down like a dog if my life was so **** for me and those who care for me.It should be a decision we can all make if we wish.If my dog gets distressed I will have it put to sleep-do not want it to suffer. I do not know about Gazza.I think he is mainly a very bad drunk. So am I-always have acted like a complete xxxx when pissed.Fortunately I was not being followed next day by a bunch of reporters trying to dissect my shame. I have to go to work so have to get over myself and get on with it.Gazza does not seem to have any structure in his life so it is difficult. He crumbles in situations where he is out of his depth. I think starting and helping run an organisation to help others less fortunate than himself would maybe help him to focus on positive goals rather than wallowing where he continually fails.
Your last thought gives Gazza the stature of someone who has both finance and some measure of intelligence, where, in fact, he sponges both off others. My mate was made redundant, at 59 retires at 66, from a decent sales role in a very damaged business sector; he now works in a local store, stacking shelves. Gazza should get NHS help and a job
I'm confused. Woman beating Marlon king is a **** of the highest order, but woman beating gazza is a national treasure? I understand that he has an addiction but that's no excuse to batter your wife
Yeah I've never understood the way he was elevated to godlike status. He had talent that he wasted. He achieved fook all. He got better the less he played and the more pissed and abusive he got. He is what he is because of him, people need to stop making excuses for him. If he lived in your road and acted the way he does, most on here would despise him.
Fez.I think Gazza could make substantial amounts of money due to his celebrity status. You really need look no further than a site like this to realise their are quite a few people who want to tell the world they are "mates"with people who have been famous-even in a parochial way.People will pay a fair amount of money directly or otherwise for the reflected glory. TV documentary-Gazza the road to recovery-would earn him more money than your mate/you and me will see in a very long time. I agree with you that he needs to do something where he is in a position to help others(mind you I think most of us could do with a bit more of this) I am not sure about NHS work.My experience is like in life generally-good and bad people employed.
Manic depression is the common name for bi-polarism. I have a friend and collegue who suffers from this - funny, upbeat, creative & the perfect host one day, bed-ridden and hiding from her kids the next. Never sure what dosage of medication is the best, in and out of work. A straight path is very hard. Gazza needs the right people around him, ones who really love and care for him. Maybe then he could do a "Gazza comeback" style documentary or series.. I reckon as a sportsman, something like the Eddie Izzard marathon run, where he can interact with people on the streets - he's get the Mike Tyson at Brixton welcome in Newcastle and North London & Glasgow.. Other famous sufferers are Robbie Williams, Stephen Fry & Carrie Fisher (of Star Wars fame) I wish him all the best.
His problems continue... BREAKING: Paul Gascoigne please guilty to harassment of former girlfriend & assaulting a photographer.
Well said, people are suggesting it is if he has a choice in his life but it's always been the case with mental illness that unless people suffer from it themselves or have a very close connection with a sufferer then they will lack empathy or understanding. I hope Gazza makes 50 but he will always need help and he should get it too.
When he was at Newcastle, Man U and Spurs where after him. So lets see. Brought up under Fergie in the North or Sent to the bright lights of London under El Tel and all that goes with it. Great agent work Mel Stein. Please tell me it was Gazzas future you where looking after and not the mega bucks that agents make????
Very true! The problems he has now! He had way back then. The stoods up challenge in the fa cup was just a little sign! Football was a release for him but even then he couldn't keep it under control! He has been sadly let down by so called friends. I remember going to an England game and he was shouting & going crazy at the bench because he felt the ball pressure was too low! I was close enough to be able to hear every word and I knew then that he wasn't well.
Not unexpected. I wonder who will have to take the blame now, as his talent as a footballer seems to exclude Gazza (and Maradona). Judging by the logic on here, if you dislike an arsehole at work take him on the lash, get him drunk and you will then feel sorry for him and excuse him being an arsehole. Hilarious stuff.
Yes, I'm sure he would have lived the quiet sober life with all the other Man Utd players at the time
Can see where you are coming from with Robson,Magrath and whiteside however the young kids who came in had no reputation of been on the lash..
Just a bit. I was best man at his wedding..He moved to Spain for a while but came home. Bump into him now and then
