The Blue bell. Royal Marine. The Cliff. The Derby. All my old haunts.

Windmills. You remember that place opposite the bell?

I've been to Living Room a couple of times and couldn't wait to move on. Both times there were footballers in there and people (women really) were losing their s**t over it but I couldn't care less.

Stating the obvious here but there are a lot of great bars in Manchester, I had a great time for the year or so I lived in the city centre.

Some good places mate yeah, but there's a lot of wannabe's like you say the women at LR, shocking. Same down Spinningfields now, loads of bars have been built down there, they all lurk like they're about to be picked up by some baller on £50k a week, despite the fact that they look like they've just been kicked through primark and dipped in a barrel of piss and garlic.

I normally just go for drinks in Chorlton or Didsbury nowadays.

Used to like it in there.

Must have hit them hard when they moved the club to the SOL.

Aye, I'd imagine so, like Roker pie shop.
Mind you, whenever I'm over Jerry's there always seems to be a few in there eating.
It was never one of my pre match watering holes, we always used the Gluepot Bar next to the Roker Hotel.
Sadly now long gone - ****ing eye tie restaurant these days.

    The Harbour view is canny.

Lots of real ales if anyone likes them.

Why are they called REAL ales?

    I'm not a huge drinker.

There's a whole stack of very talented DJ's in the North East mate, don't play the bars though, generally just clubs now.

There's a circuit of DJ's do most of the bars and a few of them are decent, but they are limited by what the venues will allow them to play.

The better ones won't compromise what they play and as such stick to the late venues.

Aye, I like it in there. The Wolsey is a belting pub too.
Cracking landlord who takes time to talk to his customers & keeps his beer spot on.

I remember when they brought in the no smoking law for inside bars here.

    Lasted a couple of weeks.
