Dont want to appear thick, but who is the "highwayman" and where do you get the name from.GDC--did you invent this name for someone or did another??
This is a really ticklish one. The horse was clearly full of himself in transit. If I'd wanted to put money on a one of them in running it would have gone on The Real Article. It has to be said though, the ride was a shocker. To be three deep when it came down to the last 6, then come "via the cape" on the corner as bad a ride as I've seen in a while. The horse came to the last under a strong hold and seemed to leave the ground at roughly the same time as Captain Cee Bee. When they landed, he seemed to hit a flat soft or a few strides. When ridden out hands and heels, he ran on nicely. If he'd been hit with the whip, he may have won. But we can never know with certainty, so I guess they get the benefit of the doubt. In questions such as these, I always ask myself, "What if my life was at risk over such a charge?" I'd be screaming blue murder. I don't thing the stewards could do too much.
I think the MJ horse DRUMMOYNE in the 2.15 Catterickdropping back to 5f is significant and his front running style will suit this course, the wide draw on soft ground should suit too.
Not many posters on Fugees, ROTO, Kieron Falllons Jockstrap, Harbottle ( a small village in Northumberland Topclass and myself are the few that post regularily on there. Here we go for my four short priced fancies for today: 3.10C Tight Lipped 3/1 3.40C The Nifty Fox 7/2 4.00L Blaise Chorus 2/1 4.10C Real Diamond 5/1 One big priced fancy 3.20W Mykingdomforahorse 25/1 went off as favourite FTO over jumps, formerly with Mick Channon on the flat where he was consistent enough. Will be better for his first run over jumps, the fact he went off as favourite suggests he is well thought of and may be good enough to win here.
News from Danboro on Dappers Dancer is that she looks well, Jockey told to let her travel and do hi sbest. O Mera thinks she likes the cut currently available at 33/1. Hope she runs a decent race for Dan.
Direct from Dan at the course: She looks well even with the wet!! Jockey told to let her travel and do his best. Trainer thinks she will like the cut! Message Ends
Oddy: Life's good mate but the weather is atrocious as always up here How's life treating you mate? Had any nice winners?
That fav was a nice bet for odds on backers when 4/5 this morning! Looked in trouble half way but straightened up well to beat not a lot me thinks! Macdonalds for Dappers i'm afraid
Dappers showed better pace today, surprised that they stepped it up to seven tbh the Dam was a sprinter.
Had a good Cheltenham and Punchestown Gary, then lost a bit at Royal Ascot (So You Think and Shumoos were 2 painful 2nds for me) so have been keeping off the betting for a while. Just been to Portugal for 2 weeks which was really nice. Weather here is crap as well, 16 or 17 degrees, cloudy and windy. Going up to Hamburg for the weekend with the family which should be good.
Oddy: Nice one mate Had a good Cheltenham, Aintree and Ascot mate but Punchestown nabbed me The stats are still paying dividends and horses for courses are standing me in good stead mate. Nice to hear from you
