showing my age here, I remember a game back in the 70s against Newcastle, I think we were 2-4 at half time & we won 5 -4. Not relevant to today, but to depressed to get involved with this team at the moment.

I remember the beat scoring a freekick from halfway against Leeds, think Harvey was in goal. I was right near him, by dugouts!!
    Happy days indeed!

God I wish I could share some of you guys memories of us being good.

Aged 29, with my first game being 2003 ( fa cup 4-3 loss at Bramall Lane, still the best game I've been to ) I've had so little to shout about.

I guess that may explain some of the different views I have at times? I donno. Best era for me was us under Royle 04/05. A joy to watch going forwards, cover eyes when defending but as Alan Partridge once said " liquid football "

Under Magilton, good stuff footballing wise at times, cluless with money.

    Keane I try to forget.

Jewell loved a loan - for a while with Hyam/ Drury doing the work we played some good stuff.

Mick the footy's been grim but it's a results business really. We need to get up anyway we can.

If that happened these days we'd be moaning about the defence...<laugh>......sadly I'm too young to remember the glory glory days.....

It's a double edged sword sometimes
Us older fans have memories that will last for ever in our hearts and minds which probably explains to the younger fans why we are so grumpy and easily pissed off
The other side is if hadn't experienced those glory days( rather than just read about it) we probably would be considerably more chilled about the whole saga

No offence meant to anyone when I said 'just reading about it'

None taken, all I've got is Inter Milan win, 5th in the prem ( not at any of them, tv days ) Royle, some young prospects, Magilton having a go then signing 3 cms when all we needed was a wide left 07/08, a carling cup semi, some idiotic managers, and now Mick's not pleasant brand of footy that has until the last 10 games been bloody successful for us - does that mean I love it either? No of course I don't, but it's results first - We need to get in the Premier League any method. Be it being expansive, be it humping the ball right now I actually couldn't care less IF it gets results.

I didn't realise we had Bolton home Tuesday either, massive week this. Cardiff H Bolton H Rotherham A ( and after the international break Wolves H ) - We'll know a lot more about our season after Wolves ( going to include Wolves in this, I know before I said after these 4 games ( 1 played at Forest )) but 3 home games in 4 really COULD allow us to get our season on track.

Do you remember that absolute belter Beats scored in the 7-0 demolition of WBA? Whymark was also bloody brilliant that day and of course Mariner scored his debut goal which was an absolute screamer!

The 7-0 demolishion also gets me onto wondering my version of this.

Being based in Bristol, and having only been to Portman Road 5 times, ( 3 wins and two draws ) made me wonder if I've ever seen us dish out a drubbing.

Away games you're much less likely to do so, the biggest winning margin I've witnessed live being 3-0 at Cardiff ( Keane's first day, Peters and Gio linking up like Neville and Beckham on the right ) all game.

I have never seen us hammered live, avoided 7-0 at Chelsea, 7-1 Peterborough, a few 6-0s. I did experience 5-1 live this season at Reading, but it was never a 5-1. Maybe 3-1, something like that would have reflected the game.

Tomorrow will be the first time since I don't know when I won't automatically know how we're getting on as I'm at Hillsborough - I'll get her to have her phone set to goal updates on our game ( I don't have a smart phone as I don't want to become internet obsessed and self indulgent ) so have a rather old school Nokia akin to 10 years ago ( includes snake ).

I don't know why, but I'm very confident tomorrow will be the day we win.

Delighted to read Jones is out for them.

The glory days under Burley I can remember us often scoring 5 in a game ....I think we even managed 3 games on the trot scoring 5.

Was at PR when we beat Barnsley 6-1. Couldn't tell you the year from top of my head though.

Was at Oakwell when they beat us 5-1. Think they're the biggest margins I've seen live.

Biggest drubbing I saw was our1-0 win over Arsenal in the FA cup final in 1978 may have only been one goal but I have never seen the town dominate a match like this for 90 minutes. We were breathtaking
Can still remember the headlines in the news of the world ' eee by gum' because they assumed that Roger Osborne came from Otley in Yorkshire rather than Otley just outside Wickham Market, great journalism. Guess some things never change lol

Had the opportunity Of two tickets to Wembly but didn't really want to go. No sky in those days and BBC devoted the entire day to the final and I didn't want to miss anything, special day the Cup final was back then
I was 25 and was drunk for two days
Sigh where has my life gone, can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning but can remember every second of that weekend lol

Woke up this morning and thought 'do i want us to win today' that is not good, to even contemplate that shows exactly how much i am disliking things atm!!
I want MM out and for that to happen we need plenty more defeats. I also hate to see us lose and want to get promoted, so the best is for a real borng and lucky victory!!
