Liverpool look set to sign Marco Bueno on a five year deal.
Could this guy be another Hernadez? and would he get a chance to prove himself in the prem or would we keep him for the future?
IMO he could make a good backup striker to play the cup games and then hopefully he can become a viable option for the prem in a season or so.
Means we could give Ngog the boot too!!!

If we do sign him, I want him to play with his real name on the back of his shirt, and not some dodgy nickname like the prick at manure!

Maybe Suarez could have 'The Vampire' on his back?

I hope he's not another Hernandez! I can see chicarito getting a bad case of second season sydrome this time around. Defenders won't give him any room whatsoever this season and the only goals he'll score are the one's that bounce of him

Never heard of him and I think its to early to be labelling him the 'new Hernandez' because he hasn't even signed yet.

Second of all, 'new' comparisons don't go too well.

Meanwhile, if we were to sign a back-up striker I'd look at Abel Hernandez of Palermo. His fast, young and can score goals. Would be a good back-up addition. Anyone heard of him?

Haven't heard much about this kid but if the management team rate him, i'm sure he is good enough. I don't think it is fair to compare him to Hernandez though as he isn't proven in the Premier League.

What's up with all of this "new Hernandez" rubbish? Hernandez has had 1 season in the top flight he's hardly an established player. Not to mention the only similarities between the 2 players if that they're Mexican.

Yes there's that <laugh> but it's not like he's a small nippy striker.

I hope this lad if we sign him isn't as one dimensional as ''Little Pea brain''.

It's just lazy journalism yet again. "He's a striker- he could be coming to the prem and guess what?... he's Mexican! Let's call him 'the new chicarito!' " Genius
One day these berks might actually come up with something original and sensible- but don't hold your breath ( cliche# 4531a ).

That was my thought when I saw the story. it was like we went. "Hey, it worked for them so let's get a Mexican!"

We'd have been scouting him for a while, not simply because Utd bought Hernandez.

I think we need to start a movement to change this. Whenever talking about players, instead of the 'new FOOTBALLER X', we should claim they are the new version of something unrelated.

    For example:
"Have you seen that striker Bueno?
Liverpool are taking him on trial, apparently he's the new Robert Mugabe."

That way when he turns out not to be a maniac dictator we can console ourselves that at least we have a decent footballer, and footballers are probably more use 'on a cold Sunday against Stoke' (or are they?!). Job done.

How comes we never hear about the next Robbie Savage or the next Matt Jansen? Whatever happened to the next John Wark? Who is the new John Wark? Who is the current Darren Anderton... actually I know the answer to that... Owen Hargreaves
