Poor fella is totally bewildered. He's been monitoring Chelsea's away support since 197? and has impeccable cedentials but he never saw this shambles coming. He can't even muster the strength to start a thread on the Premier League board, something he used to be prolific at. Sad times. Bad times.
1 and a half seasons To be fair this was never a priority for him. That what happens when you are half hearted about a match.
The only saving grace anyone can use to mitigate the ****e football we play is our results. So when the results are **** there's nothing left to defend the performance. We are treading water for 3 years. That is us until 2017. I've said it before we will win fck all with this spoofer in charge. I dont even mind that (we have no hod given right to win anything) IF I believed our players were playing at their full potential. But their talents are being wasted. If this quiff-head didnt have a big name there'd be ppl with burning torches camped outside OT.
So you keep on saying. Seems we are more happy with our mid-table manager than your free-spending title challenger
Jose wants the PSG job and is working on getting himself the sack. LvG will sort UTD out with a new super striker and Roo will be ****ed off to Chavbus
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It all depends on expectations. Some others want us to get back to no1 and play wonderful flair football this season. I am just happy if we've arrested the slide
Getting knocked out of a winnable cup to a side from a league below, at home, suggests that's still an if.
The only consolation if any is that it was all of our (the manager's) own making. It was not as if we had our full strength side being owned. It was a reserve side (ok should still have been good enough). But does not give any indication of how the first team will fare. We definitely would be out of the woods if we get into a CL place at the end of the season and have got out of the CL groups at least. Cups are always difficult tournaments to judge. Tbf we could have got 2 or 3 goals yesterday but chances were squandered.
To be fair we got knocked out of the LC at home plenty of times before when playing a weakened side, so that doesn't suggest much imo. Only the league and the CL will tell us if we are moving in the right direction, and thus far I think we are pretty much stalled from last season. Need to see some sign of moving forwards and getting some proper ambition to win matches back if LVG is to be seen as a success in the long run.
I'd agree that we've stalled on last season. If anything the football is even more turgid and we look less like scoring goals. I think LVG is terrified to drop Rooney in case it works. Subbing Wilson for Rooney at half time was piss poor management. It will dent the lad's confidence and it was almost like LVG was relieved that we'd looked so toothless without Rooney in the team.
Last night is not an indicator of progress per se but had we won the league cup this year then it would have been as we won nothing last year (bar 4th place trophy of course). The annoying thing is how he treated it and the support with such disdain in quite clearly making zero effort into winning the thing. Chelsea and Arsenal got knocked out the previous night. It more or less left us and City as favourites to win the thing and we put in that showing. It is not good enough, not by a massive long way. As I've been reminded of many times, Fergie had one or two **** sides in his time. Well, one of them went on to win the league cup as its starting point and then continued into the most successful period the club ever had on all fronts. It is ludicrous to be so dismissive of the league cup.
I don't think he gets Manchester United. We've spent the last few years mocking Chelsea for being negative and Liverpool for 'winning the passing' and he's turning us into exactly that.
